The musical, The Book of Mormon, which lampoons both organized religion and traditional musical theatre, was conceived by Trey Parker, Matt Stone (creators of South Park), and Robert Lopez. This hysterically funny show is not for the faint of heart. While it comes with a parental advisory for explicit language, it should also come with a general caution to all for its possibly offensive representation of organized religion. However, as ridiculous and potentially offensive as some of this show may be, The Book of Mormon is a delectable guilty pleasure!

THE BOOK OF MORMON, the nine-time Tony Award®-winning Best Musical, is an incredibly irreverent and hysterical musical comedy about two young Mormon missionaries who travel to Africa to preach and recruit new members to their faith. The Arvada Center for the Arts and Humanities will continue the 2016 - 2017 Black Box Repertory season with the regional premiere of The Drowning Girls, directed by Lynne Collins, opening Friday, March 17, 2017. The Drowning Girls is written by Beth Graham, Charlie Tomlinson, and Daniela Vlaskalic. Dark, lyrical and poignant, The Drowning Girls blends true crime with the surreal as it explores the lives and deaths of three women murdered by the same man. 

The Book of Mormon today announces a ticket lottery, in which a limited number of tickets will be sold by ballot for $40 each on the day of the performance. The show's ticket lottery policy began with the Broadway production, and has continued for all subsequent productions, which include two US National Tours and London's West End. The Book of Mormon is currently in previews at the Princess Theatre. Opening night is Saturday 4 February.

An additional preview was announced today for the upcoming Melbourne production of The Book of Mormon, on Tuesday 17 January at 7pm at the Princess Theatre.
