A range of performances and events from the 2016 NY PHIL BIENNIAL will be made available through live video webcasts, live audio streams, and on-demand video and audio, several in partnership with WQXR's Q2 Music, which will also feature a 24-hour biennial marathon on May 24. Biennial highlights will later be featured on a radio broadcast on WFMT's Relevant Tones with Seth Boustead, and on a release of biennial highlights on the Philharmonic's digital recording series Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic: 2015-16 Season.

With its UK premiere earlier this year at The Drum, Theatre Royal Plymouth's fast-paced, hilarious and (slightly) bonkers Monster Raving Loony brings its party fun and punkish anarchy to Soho Theatre next month.  Opening on 17 May,Monster Raving Loony by James Graham will preview from 14 May, and run until 18 June.

The New York Philharmonic announces a new album of works by Christopher Rouse, the Philharmonic's second Marie-Jose?e Kravis Composer-in-Residence, and the launch of Alan Gilbert and the New York Philharmonic: 2015-16 Season digital recording series - which will feature ten albums of performances from the current season - for download and streaming.

Theatre Royal Plymouth presents James Graham's MONSTER RAVING LOONY. Samuel James takes the role of Screaming Lord Sutch, with Joseph Alessi, Camilla Beeput, Joanna Brookes, Jack Brown playing a number of different characters. Theatre Royal Plymouth Artistic Director Simon Stokes today announces the full cast for his production of James Graham's Monster Raving Loony.  Samuel James takes the role of Screaming Lord Sutch, with Joseph Alessi, Camilla Beeput, Joanna Brookes, Jack Brown playing a number of different characters. The production opens on Wednesday 10th February, with previews from Saturday 6th February, and runs until Sat 27th February.

From May 23 to June 11, 2016, the New York Philharmonic and Music Director Alan Gilbert will present the second NY PHIL BIENNIAL, a wide-ranging exploration of today's music by an array of contemporary and modern composers. The Ustinov Studio, Bath is delighted to announce the UK premiere of Georges Feydeau's THE ONE THAT GOT AWAY as part of its autumn 2015 season, translated by Kenneth McLeish and directed by the Ustinov Studio's Artistic Director, Laurence Boswell.

The Canadian Brass will join the New York Philharmonic Principal Brass Quintet for the 20th season of its annual Holiday Brass concert, Sunday, December 13, 2015, at 3:00 p.m. The performance will feature seasonal favorites from the Baroque to contemporary; the program will be announced at a later date.

The July-September broadcasts of The New York Philharmonic This Week - the weekly radio series of concerts and recordings by the New York Philharmonic, hosted by Alec Baldwin - will feature diverse programming, including Music Director Alan Gilbert leading Mahler's Symphony No. 2, Resurrection, in A Concert for New York on the 10th anniversary of 9/11; Bramwell Tovey conducing works including the World Premiere of a work he himself composed, featuring Principal Trombone Joseph Alessi as soloist; and special compilations celebrating former Philharmonic Music Directors Zubin Mehta, Pierre Boulez, and Kurt Masur.

On Friday, May 15 at 8:00 p.m. in Stern Auditorium / Perelman Stage, Carnegie Hall presents celebrated mezzo-soprano Stephanie Blythe in recital with pianist Warren Jones in a program of popular songs by Poulenc, Ferré, Brel, Britten, and Coward. One of the most respected and versatile artists of her generation, Ms. Blythe recently starred as Gertrude Stein in the world premiere production of Ricky Ian Gordon's Twenty-Seven, an opera commissioned for her by the Opera Theatre of Saint Louis. In 2013, Innova Records released Ms. Blythe's first crossover album As Long as There are Songs, featuring selections from the Great American Songbook arranged together with pianist Craig Terry. Together Ms. Blythe and Mr. Jones have performed recitals in major concert halls across the United States.

The Mary and James G. Wallach Artist-in-Residence Lisa Batiashvili will continue her tenure with performances of Barber's Violin Concerto, and The Marie-Jose?e Kravis Composer-in- Residence Christopher Rouse's tenure concludes with performances of Iscariot, the final work by Mr. Rouse to performed during his three-year tenure. David Zinman will conduct the program, which also includes Rachmaninoff's Symphony No. 2, Thursday, February 5, 2015, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, February 6 at 8:00 p.m.; and Saturday, February 7 at 8:00 p.m.

Leonard Slatkin will return to the New York Philharmonic to conduct the New York Premiere of The Marie-Josee Kravis Composer-in-Residence Christopher Rouse's Flute Concerto, with Principal Flute Robert Langevin as soloist; Copland's El Salon Mexico; Ravel's Gaspard de la nuit (orchestrated by Marius Constant), marking the Philharmonic's first time performing the complete work; and Ravel's Bolero, Thursday, October 30, 2014, at 7:30 p.m.; Friday, October 31 at 7:30 p.m. (performed without intermission); and Saturday, November 1 at 8:00 p.m.

The Philadelphia Orchestra announces the appointment of Nitzan Haroz as principal trombone, effective immediately. Haroz returns to The Philadelphia Orchestra, where he was principal trombone from 1995 to 2012, after serving for two years in the same position with the Los Angeles Philharmonic.

Philharmonic musicians will introduce the works and speak about Mr. Smith.
