Composer Robert Sirota is curating a new season-long series at National Sawdust (80 N 6th St). Titled Bridging the Gap, the series will feature concerts of chamber, choral, and solo works which Sirota has crafted to explore the student/teacher, mentor/mentee relationships between generations of composers. Each concert will be preceded by a discussion with composer mentors, mentees, and performers, led by a distinguished thought leader. The concerts themselves will include performances of works by both younger composers and the teachers who have influenced their development.

Ahead of tomorrow's opening night, first images are released today of Samantha Barks and Jonathan Bailey in Tony Award-winning Broadway composer Jason Robert Brown's acclaimed musical The Last Five Years. Due to popular demand, the production at St. James Theatre will also extend its run by a week, and will now play until Saturday 3 December.

Composer Jonathan Bailey Holland is preparing for two world premieres of new works this fall, to include a marimba/violin duet and a short opera. These new works follow his most recent chamber music compositions: Synchrony, a powerful classical music statement on Black Lives Matter with Radius Ensemble, and Forged Sanctuaries (String Quartet No. 2) composed for Curtis on Tour in celebration of the U.S. National Parks Service Centennial. He has already been commissioned to compose a piece for the 2017 re-opening of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra Music Hall, which will be conducted by Louis Langree.

The Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra (CSO) and the Cincinnati Pops announced highly-anticipated international tours to Asia in March of 2017 with six performances in Hong Kong, Beijing, Shanghai and Taiwan, as well as the CSO undertaking an extensive, eleven-concert tour across Europe over three weeks in August and September. The Orchestra will be on tour for five total weeks in 2017, performing in 12 cities across seven different countries.
