In anticipation of their upcoming production of The Hound of the Baskervilles, Virginia Stage Company challenges community members to channel their inner Sherlock Holmes with a "Seven Days of Mystery" scavenger hunt in Downtown, Norfolk. Starting Wednesday, February 14, a poster will be placed in a different business everyday for seven consecutive days. Clues will be posted on Virginia Stage Company's social media sites every morning. Once the poster is found, participants will rush to take a picture and tag both Virginia Stage Company and the business for a chance to win free tickets to Opening Night, Saturday February 24, and other prizes. Participating businesses include the new Waterside District and Slover Library.

Virginia Stage Company continues its 39th Season with a lighting quick, comical adaptation of the beloved detective novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles, produced in partnership with TheatreSquared. Three actors play more than 20 characters in this hilarious spoof of beastly proportions. Directed by Mark Shanahan, this production is "a sublimely funny adaptation of Arthur Conan Doyle's classic," which lovers of the Watson and Holmes duo will enjoy.

The Hound of the Baskervilles is a delightful take on the classic Sherlock Holmes story that proves a comic stance on Holmes is sometimes better than a dramatic one. The show is the Jermyn Street Theatre's first co-production with a theatre abroad, having run at the English Theatre Frankfurt over the summer.

Actress Emma Fielding's work ranges from Arcadia, Private Lives and The King's Speech to Terror and The School for Scandal. She's now playing Mrs Allonby in Oscar Wilde's A Woman of No Importance at the Vaudeville Theatre, currently in previews.

The game is afoot this Halloween during Orlando Shakespeare Theater in Partnership with UCF's (Orlando Shakes) production of The Hound of the Baskervilles, running from October 11 November 19, 2017 in the Goldman Theater. Set in the foothills of England's countryside, Steven Canny and John Nicholson's play puts a hilarious spin on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's novel, The Hound of the Baskervilles. Tickets for Virginia Stage Company's Season 39 have been on sale for just a few days and have broken multiple sales records, seeing more than a threefold increase on opening day over last season. This combined with season membership sales, that have already exceeded all of last season, shows promise for what was anticipated to be Virginia Stage's most blockbuster season in years.

Virginia Stage Company and Norfolk State University Theatre Company's production of The Wiz concluded April 30 after rave reviews, smashing attendance records and selling out five performances - something not seen at the Wells Theatre is many years.
