BWW Review: MAMMY GOOSE, Tron Theatre, Glasgow
by Natalie O'Donoghue - Dec 1, 2018

Mammy Goose always thought she was going to be somebody, though life hasn't quite worked out like that. Her dreams of glittering Holyrood parties hob-knobbing with the Scottish elite like The Krankies and Sean Batty have gone down the pan. The frying pan. Her life is less Debbie McGhee more McGhee's the Bakers. She's working her fingers to the bone in that wee cafe of hers with her only friend in the world is Lucy - a talking Goose (and you can imagine the stares in street walking arm-in-arm with a 6ft goose).

BWW Review: THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES at Classical Theatre Company- Provides Many Happy Returns
by Charlotte Harris - Oct 9, 2018

I was fortunate enough to see Houston's Classical Theatre Company present THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, written by Arthur Conan Doyle (Writer of The Adventures of Sherlock Holmes novel series). This production of THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES, directed by Melissa Flower, was a wonderful curveball that left me excited for more Sherlock. The presentation and physicality of Act One will have any Sherlockian intellect wondering if what they saw was classic Sherlock Holmes (spoiler alert: it is).

Classical Theatre Company Presents THE RETURN OF SHERLOCK HOLMES By Arthur Conan Doyle
by A.A. Cristi - Sep 12, 2018

Classical Theatre Company returns to the great Arthur Conan Doyle for the first time since the 2014-15 season's smash hit, The Speckled Band: An Adventure of Sherlock Holmes. Engaged to reprise their roles as the detective and Dr. Watson are CTC Executive Artistic Director John Johnston and CTC company artist Andrew Love. "I've been in many plays over my career, but I've never had the chance to play the same character in different plays," says Love. "I'm really looking forward to this challenge."

BWW Review: PRIDE AND PREJUDICE* *SORT OF, Tron Theatre, Glasgow
by Natalie O'Donoghue - Jun 30, 2018

Join Tron Theatre Company and Blood of the Young for a unique and colourful take on the definitive rom-com, Pride & Prejudice. Five vaguely familiar young women have a story to tell. You'll have seen them, emptying the chamber pots and sweeping ash from the grate, the overlooked and the undervalued making sure that everyone above stairs finds their happy ending. Because when you can't be the romantic lead in your own story, you have to play a supporting role in someone else's.

BWW Review: MA, PA AND THE LITTLE MOUTHS, Tron Theatre
by Natalie O'Donoghue - May 5, 2018

With unseen 'little mouths' and the belching fumes of the local refinery as a backdrop, we find ourselves in the beguiling world of Ma and Pa who spend their time exchanging extraordinary and fantastic stories…until suddenly there is a knock at the door…

Classical Theatre Company Presents THE GOVERNMENT INSPECTOR By Nikolai Gogol
by A.A. Cristi - Mar 19, 2018

Classical Theatre Company returns to Russia for the first time since producing Chekhov's The Bear & The Proposal in 2016, this time via Russian literary master, Nikolai Gogol. Gogol's overt criticism of the rampant corruption he saw permeating the government in 1836 takes the form of his scathing satirical comedy, The Government Inspector. Often overshadowed by Chekhov, Nikolai Gogol penned The Government Inspector, and it is considered by some to be one of the finest plays from the Russian canon.

Jacob Heinz Directs 2017 Production of SPIRIT in Adams
by Jeffrey Ellis - Oct 6, 2017

As you sit on the grounds of the farm that once belonged to the Bell family, the annual dramatization of their haunting story Spirit will take you on an eerily captivating journey that began in 1804. That's when John Bell uprooted his family and moved to a beautiful area on the Red River, now known as Adams, unaware that the grounds were already occupied by the later-coined Bell Witch.

Classical Theatre Co Kicks Off Season with MRS. WARREN'S PROFESSION
by Julie Musbach - Sep 11, 2017

Fighting off the repercussions from Hurricane Harvey, Classical Theatre Company returns to the great George Bernard Shaw for this first time since producing the smash hit Candida back in 2011. Regarded by many to be the second finest author in the English language, Shaw is well known for his wordsmithing and wit. His keen ear and ability to recreate the voices of those he encountered and brought to life on the page are without peer.

BWW Review: THE LYING KIND, Tron Theatre, Glasgow
by Natalie O'Donoghue - Jul 8, 2017

Constables Blunt and Gobbel have one last duty to fulfil before they clock off on Christmas Eve: to tell the old couple at number 58 some terrible, terrible news. But what if the shock is too much for the frail pair to bear? Maybe they'd be better off not knowing. And maybe the hapless constables would be better off if they hadn't got themselves stuck in the middle of a lynching organized by a group of anti-paedophile vigilantes.

BWW Review: BARBER OF SEVILLE On the Cutting Edge at Classical Theatre Co.
by Guest Blogger: Kelvin Douglas - Apr 18, 2017

THE BARBER OF SEVILLE (the eighteenth century play written by French native Pierre-Augustin Caron de Beaumarchais, not Rossini's opera) makes for a charming spectacle at Classical Theatre Company.
