Washington Ballet Artistic Director Julie Kent to Complete Tenure at Conclusion of 22-23 Season

The Washington Ballet has announced that Artistic Director Julie Kent will conclude her tenure with the Company at the end of the 2022–2023 season. Ms. Kent has accepted a new leadership role as Co-Artistic Director of Houston Ballet, effective July 2023.

San Francisco Opera presents Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata conducted by Caroline H. Hume Music Director Eun Sun Kim in a new staging by director Shawna Lucey. This new vision of a beloved classic, the first new production of La Traviata to be built by the Company in 35 years, will open on November 11 simultaneously at the War Memorial Opera House and on the videoboard at Oracle Park in a free Opera at the Ballpark simulcast.

The Los Angeles premiere of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Oklahoma! directed by Daniel Fish opens Thursday, September 15 at 8 p.m. at Center Theatre Group / Ahmanson Theatre. The tour will mark the first time a First-Class Equity production of Oklahoma! has toured North America in more than 40 years. This bold interpretation will play through October 16.
