If you're looking for a holiday musical to entertain the whole family, 42nd Street is full of  song and dance, sparkling costumes, and toe-tapping spectacle. The Tony Award-winning production is playing at the Princess of Wales Theatre into the New Year.

No Sugarplum Fairy at Sadler’s Wells this Christmas…they've got Edward Scissorhands instead! Specifically Matthew Bourne’s New Adventures production running until 20 January.

The National Theatre somewhat mutedly celebrated its 60th anniversary this year. There was ostensibly little fanfare. No public flotillas, no audiences with royal patrons or forty-one gun salutes. A stunning celebration of the music of Birmingham legends Black Sabbath performed by the Birmingham Royal Ballet. The combination of heavy metal music with ballet may not seem an obvious one but here we are thanks to the direction of Carlos Acosta, who had the vision to celebrate Birmingham’s most popular musical exports, Black Sabbath, in this three-act ballet from Birmingham Royal Ballet.
