I am reflecting this morning on the glory of live theatre and the community that makes it. As we prepare to open SCANDALOUS tomorrow night at the Neil Simon Theatre, it just staggers me to think about all the many people that have given most of the hours of their days for the past three months to get to this point. Every single department on this production has given above and beyond the 'normal'. In fact, it is incredible. The definition of 'incredible' is: so extraordinary as to seem impossible.

According to an Equity casting notice, Kathie Lee Gifford, David Friedman and David Pomeranz new musical, THE AIMEE PROJECT will open on Broadway sometime this fall at a theater to be announced. According to the notice, David Armstrong will helm, alongside Joel Fram as the musical director and Lorin Latarro as the choreographer. Rehearsals are listed as beginning in September of 2012.

The New Voices Collective is gearing up for IN DEVELOPMENT: New Songs from New Shows, New Voices' triumphant return to its original home at Peter Norton Symphony Space, this coming Monday, December 12, at 8:00 p.m. An incredible roster of composers have contributed songs from their new musicals, providing a 'sneak peek' at an interesting array of projects, such as Homemade Fusion by Michael Kooman and Christopher Dimond and Bunnicula by Sam Davis and Mark Waldrop.

At 7pm on November 7, Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award-winning composer, Tom Kitt (Next to Normal) will kick off White Plains Performing Arts Center's Conversations @ 7 series. The Conversations series is structured as an intimate open forum, where the participating audience and guest artists share an evening discussing craft and life in the theatre. The spectrum of participating guests will range in their roles in theatre from creative to production to performing with the consistent factor of their level of achievement and a rare chance for audience to interact with these masters of theatre.
