The second annual Black Women On Broadway awards were held this week in New York and the star-studded event included appearances from the organization's founders, Danielle Brooks, Jocelyn Bioh, and Amber Iman and Broadway luminaries NaTasha Yvette Williams, Tonya Pinkins, Crystal Lucas Perry, LaChanze, Audra McDonald and more! Tony Award winner Lillias White, who plays Hermes – the first woman to do so – messenger of the gods, has extended her run in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical at the Walter Kerr Theatre.

The musicians from Broadway's 'Hadestown' create a nightclub band as the 'Underworld Orchestra' and debut at Birdland Jazz Club in NYC. Featuring singers from the current hit Broadway show and showcasing instrumental and vocal R&B and Pop hits from the past 50 or more years...the show's unique arrangements were all created by members of the band.

Ben Cameron's long-running, award-winning, musical theatre variety series, Broadway Sessions, returns on February 2nd with its annual Black History Month celebration. The evening will celebrate Black impact, influence, and legacy on Broadway and beyond featuring an all-star cast of Black theatre artists. The night will be  co-hosted by Ben Cameron and Ari Groover (Tina, Little Shop of Horrors).

At today’s matinee, Hadestown will play its 918th performance making the musical the longest-running show in the 100-year history of the Walter Kerr Theatre. Hadestown began preview performances at the Kerr on March 22, 2019 and opened April 17, 2019.

Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS’ in-theater Red Bucket fundraising concluded its fall campaign with 36 Broadway, Off-Broadway and national touring productions raising $5,107,791 to provide meals and medication, health care and hope for those living with HIV/AIDS, dealing with COVID-19 or facing other debilitating illnesses this holiday season.

A new clip from the Broadway Rising documentary has released a new clip featuring producer Kevin McCollum. The video features footage from McCollum's offices as general tickets go on sale for SIX and Doubtfire on May 10, 2021 after it was announced that Broadway would be reopening after the COVID-19 pandemic.

Patrick Page will play his final performance in Hadestown, Broadway’s Tony Award-winning Best Musical, on Friday, December 30.
