Tony Award-winning actor Aaron Tveit celebrated a milestone this week as iconic Theatre District eatery, Sardi's, honored the star with his very own caricature! Producers Carmen Pavlovic and Bill Damaschke announced today that Natalie Mendoza, Tony Award winner Aaron Tveit, Tam Mutu and Ricky Rojas will play their final performance in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Sunday, May 8, 2022, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre.

Based on the book by Tim Federle, 'Better Nate Than Ever' will premiere on Disney+ on April 1, 2022 and last night, the highly anticipated film had its big premiere in New York City! Go on the red carpet with BroadwayWorld below to see who turned out for the big night!

Aaron Tveit and Natlie Mendoza appeared on The View this morning to perform 'Your Song' from Moulin Rouge! The Musical. Originally by Elton John, the song is one of the many popular songs covered in the musical. Moulin Rouge! The Musical is the winner of ten 2021 Tony Awards including Best Musical and Best Actor for Tveit.

With a new year comes a new opportunity to see Broadway shows. Since the re-opening of Broadway in September of 2021, several productions from Hamilton to Wicked have continued to perform eight shows a week to eager audiences. Although these past few weeks have been difficult, Broadway productions have remained open despite the many challenges that the Omicron variant has presented. While it is difficult to foresee how the rest of the pandemic will play out, it becomes clear that the best time to see a Broadway show is now, especially since crowds are smaller, tickets are easier to attain, and the logistics are easier to navigate. With this in mind, compiled below is a list of some of the shows to see right now, presenting the theatrical highlights of 2022 so far.

Tony Award nominee Robyn Hurder will play her final performance as Nini in the Tony Award-winning Best Musical Moulin Rouge! The Musical on Sunday, February 20, 2022, at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre. Jessica Lee Goldyn begins performances in the role starting Tuesday, February 22, 2022.

The Prince of Egypt has this week been filmed live at London's Dominion Theatre by Universal Pictures Content Group. Plans for its broadcast will be released at a later date. The live capture of Scott Schwartz's production is directed by Brett Sullivan and produced by Dione Orrom.

The video features cast members Liam Tamne, Adam Pearce, Soophia Foroughi, Natalie Green, Jessica Lee and Christopher Short with the team from The Show Shanties who delighted musical theatre fans by producing video collaborations with musicals such as Hamilton over lockdown!

The Prince of Egypt has released all new production photos, featuring Oliver Lidert, who stars as ‘Jethro’ from tonight (Monday 18 October 2021), and Nardia Ruth who is now playing ‘Nefertari’.  

THE PRINCE OF EGYPT, based on the classic DreamWorks Animation film, will play its final performance at London’s Dominion Theatre on Saturday 8 January 2022, the end of its booking period. Extra shows have been added on 20, 21 and 28 December 2021 at 2.30pm.

Nardia Ruth will join the production as Nefertari from Friday 17 September 2021. Nardia is a 2021 graduate of London’s Royal Academy of Music and a Disney Theatrical Productions Scholar and an Ian Fleming Musical Theatre Award recipient. The role of Nefertari in The Prince of Egypt will mark Nardia’s professional and West End debut. 

Transcendence Theatre Company celebrates the 10th anniversary season of Broadway Under The Stars and the return to Jack London State Historic Park with an all-new concert, ROAD TRIP!, now through August 29th.  First production shots have just been released.

The Prince of Egypt has once again been forced to cancel upcoming performances due to Government-enforced COVID-19 legislation. Performances through 7 August have been cancelled at this time.

Following the current temporary suspension of performances due to Government Track and Trace legislation, the production will play three socially distanced performances on Wednesday 21 July at 7.30pm and Thursday 22 July at 2.30pm and 7.30pm before gradually reverting to full capacity.

Ticket buyers will be contacted by their point of purchase via email, and will be offered the option to exchange their tickets or receive a refund or credit voucher. Learn more here!

ROAD TRIP! will showcase a diverse style of music – from patriotic to pop, jazz to musical theater, funk to Disney, and much more. The show will cover many cities and states, starting and ending in California.
