Amanda McBroom -- American international theater and cabaret performer and writer of the hit song, "The Rose"  -- will return to 54 Below on September 30th and October 1st at 7pm with her new show, Up Close and Personal, featuring unheard songs from her own songwriter's trunk, plus music by some of her favorite writers including Leonard Cohen, Judy Collins, Fran Landesman, John Bucchino, Jacques Brel and more.

ANDREA MARCOVCCI - the singer and actress hailed as "torch singer, spellbinder, heart-breaker" by People - will debut at 54 Below this fall for two shows only on November 17 and 18 at 7:00 PM  ~ the second night is her birthday celebration! This marks the east coast debut of Let's Get Lost.

Mark Cortale, Producing Artistic Director of The Art House in Provincetown, MA has announced that cabaret star Roslyn Kind will join the critically acclaimed Broadway @ The Art House series for two shows only on July 31 and August 1 at 7:00 PM. The production is directed by Richard Jay-Alexander who has directed productions for Barbra Streisand (who is also Ms. Kind's big sister), as well as for Kristin Chenoweth, Il Divo, Bette Midler and Well-Strung. Tonight, May 22 at 7:30pm at the Tenri Cultural Institute of New York (43A West 13th Street) in the West Village, Voice Afire Pocket Opera & Cabaret will present a special Evening of Words, Wine & Music which will feature a series of live musical performances from The Metropolitan Opera Orchestra's Milan Milisavljevi? on Viola, Juilliard's Jennifer Chu on Piano, as well as a Chilean Wine Tasting led by The Metropolitan Opera's Chief Librarian, Robert Sutherland.

After a 20-year absence from Manhattan cabaret, Roslyn Kind resurfaced last year with a sold out run at 54 Below. The show was a hit and audiences so adored her, she probably could have extended a month. At the time, she was fresh off a world tour that that began at Brooklyn's Barclays Center and famously included her nephew Jason Gould, acclaimed jazz trumpeter Chris Botti, and half sister Barbra Streisand with whom she sang some duets. The Brooklyn native returned to 54 Below for the first three days in May and again her show was a hit under the masterful direction of Broadway's Richard Jay-Alexander

It was hard to believe that it had been 20 years since Roslyn Kind has appeared in a nightclub in New York City before Kind made her sold out, first appearance at 54 Below last year. It's not exactly a secret that cabaret has for decades been a world dominated by female entertainers. Sylvia Syms, Julie Wilson, Margaret Whiting, Karen Akers, KT Sullivan, Karen Mason and myriad others have assumed the top notches of the art form. But, perhaps, men might be taking their place among the front lines and a perfect example this past week were the shows from cabaret veterans Kevin Dozier and Frank Torren.
