Coming to the Mahalia Jackson Theater on January 8 is the national tour of the hit show JERSEY BOYS, which allows audiences a close up look at Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons' rise to stardom. The show features hit songs "Sherry," "Big Girls Don't Cry," and "Walk Like a Man." I recently spoke with Jason Kappus, who plays Four Seasons member Bob Gaudio, about the show, the music, and life on tour.

Their songs are some of the most iconic in rock and roll history, but their story is largely unknown. Currently showing at the Durham Performing Arts Center, Jersey Boys is the Tony Award winning story of the rise of The Four Seasons. The musical has been playing on Broadway since 2005 and has captured the hearts of Four Seasons fans and entertained a new generation of music lovers.

To recreate the fame and heartbreak of the badass group, there has to be a gritty finesse in order to showcase the unexpected voices and talent of four Jersey hoodlums. The story is the all too familiar tale of four boys under a streetlight; the tremendous success and the embittered fall-right back to a glamorous reunion. This tour has that finesse.
