AIN'T TOO PROUD-THE LIFE AND TIMES OF THE TEMPTATIONS had its world premiere at Berkeley Repertory Theatre on August 31, and runs until October 22!

Due to an overwhelming demand, Berkeley Rep has announced that the world premiere musical of Ain't Too Proud-The Life and Times of The Temptations will extend for two additional weeks. Originally scheduled to close on October 8, the popular musical will now run through Sunday, October 22.

Berkeley Repertory Theatre today announced the full casting and creative team for the world premiere of AIN'T TOO PROUD-THE TEMPTATIONS MUSICAL. The musical stage production will be directed by Tony Award winner Des McAnuff. Berkeley Rep presents the show by special arrangement with Ira Pittelman and Tom Hulce (American Idiot, Spring Awakening).

This Halloween, Monday October 31st, 42 Seven Productions in conjunction with IndieFork, and W NY Times Square bring a new Halloween experience to life. FRIGHT NIGHT is a Halloween experience that will bring you thrilling Halloween tunes, some Rocky Horror classics, complete with a costume contest, and some trick or treat trivia, everything you need for a Broadway Halloween. Ben Cameron from the Broadway smash Wicked, and host of the long running hit 'Broadway Sessions,' will emcee the experience. The show will feature some of Broadway's best including Betsy Struxness (Hamilton), Colin Cunliffe (Pippin), Matt DeAngelis (Once), Eric LaJuan Summers (Motown), Chadae Nichol McAlister (Motown), David Larsen (The Book of Mormon), Mary Page Nance (Finding Neverland), Megan Lewis (If/Then), recording artist Molly Roth, and Nik Walker (Hamilton). The best of Broadway will be performing FREE on six consecutive Thursdays this summer with '106.7 LITE FM's Broadway in Bryant Park 2016' - a lunchtime series that continued this week, July 14 on the Bryant Park Stage. Hosted by LITE FM's on-air personalities, the 16th annual presentation of open-air, On- and Off- Broadway lunch hour performances will run through Thursday, August 11.

Performances for the Miami premiere of MOTOWN THE MUSICAL begin Tuesday, February 2 for a limited one-week run through Sunday, February 7, 2016 at the Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County.

Last week, I had the opportunity of speaking with Jarvis B. Manning Jr., a Texas native from the national tour of MOTOWN The Musical. In addition to speaking about returning to his hometown as a professional performer, Jarvis spoke about the unique experience of touring the country during the Michael Brown trials, and the emotion the cast has felt while performing in different cities.
