Review: AN HONEST APOLOGY Premieres at FreeFall Stage
by Courtney Symes - Feb 22, 2024

Being the first to review a new work is always a pleasure, particularly when that work is as engaging as James Van Eaton’s An Honest Apology. This play is a mixture of Oscar Wilde and Jane Austen, full of witticisms and satire directed towards those who are concerned with their place in high society. In addition, exaggerated affectations and hilariously shallow characters make this an intriguing period piece about learning humility and grace.

Review: NORTHANGER ABBEY, Orange Tree Theatre
by Aliya Al-Hassan - Jan 25, 2024

It's no wonder that the Orange Tree Theatre is such a fan of Zoe Cooper. She received critical acclaim with both the beautifully touching Jess And Joe Forever in 2016 and the wonderfully perceptive Out Of Water in 2019 at the venue. There are many similaries here, with Cooper's deft handling of sexuality, friendship and social expectations, but this time taken from Jane Austen's Northanger Abbey. Is it another hit? Not quite.
