Tonight on social media, Tony Award-winner James Monroe Iglehart and his wife, Dawn Iglehart, posted a very personal and positive message regarding Dawn's health as she concludes treatment for Hodgkin's lymphoma.

At a recent performance of Little Shop of Horrors at the Kennedy Center, composer Alan Menken stopped by! He took to the stage to say a few words to the cast, and you can watch his whole speech in the video below.

The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts' semi-staged concert production of Alan Menken and Howard Ashman's Little Shop of Horrors, helmed by director Mark Brokaw (Rodgers + Hammerstein's Cinderella) is now on stage.

All things considered, this presentation offers a fabulous time at the theater.

The Kennedy Center is getting into the Halloween spirit with its all-star production of Little Shop of Horrors. It has just been announced that James Monroe Iglehart will not be able to perform. He will be replaced by Michael James Leslie, who has played the role of Audrey II to critical acclaim on Broadway and more.

Quill and Quaver Associates P/L will present industry readings of The Stranger From Seville - A New Musical, based on The Mapmaker's Opera by Bea Gonzalez, with music by Kevin Purcell and book & lyrics by Victor Kazan.  Directed by Martin Platt, with music direction by Matt Castle and orchestrations by Mark Buys, the readings will be held on Tuesday, September 25.

The Tooting Arts Club production of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler's Sweeney Todd: The Demon Barber of Fleet Street makes history today as it becomes the longest running production of Sweeney Todd on record. Today's performance marks 558, surpassing the 1979 Original Broadway Production directed by Hal Prince.

Broadway Sessions welcomes the cast of Sweeney Todd this week, 5/24. BROADWAY SESSIONS is described as an evening of musical performances, games and open mic featuring a new Broadway guest each week. The show is created and hosted by Ben Cameron (Bway Wicked, Aida and Footloose) and features musical director Joshua Stephen Kartes on piano. It was announced today that due to continued popular demand, off-Broadway's Sweeney Todd will extend through August 26, 2018. The production celebrated its one year anniversary this week, continuing its streak as the longest running musical to play New York's Barrow Street Theatre (27 Barrow Street).

The company of Barrow Street Theater's immersive mounting of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd celebrated one year of baking up scares this week. The newest cast members Thom Sesma, Sally Ann Triplett, Zachary Noah Piser, Billy Harrigan Tighe, DeLaney Westfall were in attendance to send Sweeney into its next year of murder, mayhem, and meat pies!
