The Peace Center's 2018-2019 Peace Voices poetry program features Poetic Conversations, master classes with visiting artists, teen and adult workshops, readings, a poetry slam and book discussions. With Poet-in-Residence Glenis Redmond at the helm, attendees are encouraged to tell unique personal stories, have important conversations, and develop written and verbal skills. Peace Voices events are FREE.

On Sunday, July 10, over one hundred black women artists gathered at the New Museum to form a collective force underground, known as Black Women Artists for Black Lives Matter (BWA for BLM). Simone Leigh, the New Museum's current artist-in-residence, whose exhibition 'The Waiting Room' is on view through September 18, convened this group in response to the continued inhumane institutionalized violence against black lives in the U.S.
Galunker, A Children's Book About A Pit Bull, Gathers Huge Kickstarter Following

TORONTO, June 30, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ The odds of a children's book about a pit bull gathering a huge following were slim. But Galunker an illustrated rhyming book, with a nod to Dr. Seuss achieved its 35-day Kickstarter goal in less than three days. It has taken in $55,000 CAD, with two days left in the campaign. Pit bull advocates have rallied around the project.
