Today, January 23, Broadway says goodbye to two beloved productions. Slave Play will conclude its limited run at the August Wilson Theatre following 9 previews and 58 regular performances; and Girl from the North Country pauses performances at the Belasco Theatre following 31 previews and 117 regular performances.

The strictly limited return engagement of Slave Play is now in previews ahead of a Thursday, December 2 opening night at the August Wilson Theatre.

Complete casting has been announced for the return Broadway engagement of Jeremy O. Harris' Slave Play at the August Wilson Theatre (245 West 52nd Street). Joining the production are Devin Kawaoka as Dustin and Jonathan Chad Higginbotham as Phillip. They join returning original Broadway and NYTW cast members.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Slave Play will return to Broadway beginning later this fall. The return engagement, directed by Tony Award nominee Robert O’Hara, will begin performances Tuesday, November 23 ahead of an official opening night of Thursday, December 2 for a strictly limited eight-week engagement through Sunday, January 23, 2022.

The Public Theater and WNYC Studios will debut the bilingual audio adaptation of Romeo y Julieta on Thursday, March 18. Featuring Lupita Nyong’o and Juan Castano as the star-crossed lovers, this world premiere production has been adapted by Saheem Ali and Ricardo Pérez González, based on the Spanish translation by Alfredo Michel Modenessi.
