On Friday evening, January 18, 2019, Kinky Boots welcomed to the stage for the first time, Tiki Barber, a former American Football running back who played for the New York Giants of the National Football League (NFL) for ten seasons. Barber plays the role of "Don" in the Tony Award®-winning musical at the Al Hirschfeld Theatre (302 West 45th Street) for a limited run through Sunday, March 3, 2019.

Second Discussion Added To Gary Sinise Book Tour Event Due To Popular Demand

By popular demand, Steppenwolf Theatre Company will host a second conversation with co-founder Gary Sinise on Monday, February 18 at 9pm, following the sold out 7pm discussion. During the event Sinise and fellow co-founder Jeff Perry will discuss Sinise's new book Grateful American: A Journey from Self to Service in a candid conversation. A copy of the book is included in the ticket cost. The late-night event will take place in Steppenwolf's Downstairs Theatre, 1650 N Halsted, on Monday, February 18, 2019 at 9pm. Single tickets ($45) are available through Audience Services at 312-335-1650 or steppenwolf.org. Steppenwolf Black Card Members may use credits towards this event.

American Society of Cinematographers to Honor Robert Richardson and Jeff Jur at Annual Awards

The American Society of Cinematographers (ASC) has chosen two honorees to be feted for their body of work at the 33rd ASC Awards for Outstanding Achievement. Robert Richardson, ASC will receive the ASC Lifetime Achievement Award, and Jeff Jur, ASC will be bestowed the org's Career Achievement in Television Award. The presentations will be made at the annual ASC Awards gala on February 9, 2019, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland. The event will also pay tribute to the society's centennial in 2019.

Bahia Ramos has been selected as The Wallace Foundation's new Director of Arts, the foundation announced today. Ramos, who will oversee one of the foundation's key grantmaking areas, will join Wallace on September 6, 2018. She succeeds Daniel Windham, who is retiring at the end of September.

Palace Theater Kid Friendly Tour in August

In an unique collaboration a special kid friendly tour of the Palace Theater is being offered on Wednesday August 15 at 11:00 am. The hour-long tour adapted specifically for children ages 5 and older will include magic performed by "CJ the Sorcerer" aka Cyril May the Recycling Coordinator for the City of Waterbury, as well as an opportunity to see the behind the scenes magic at the majestic venue and a chance for a "walk on" across the historic stage.

The National Association for Music Education (NAfME) announces the 2017-2018 Tri-M Music Honor Society Chapter of the Year, presented by Simply Sheets Fundraising. The National Chapter of the Year Program is designed to motivate and reward chapters that perform service projects, encourage Chapter Officers to perform their duties properly, and increase awareness and interest in what other Tri-M chapters are doing.
