Roundabout Theatre Company welcomes Norm Lewis as 'Harrison Howell,' completing the all-star cast of Kelli O'Hara (Lilli Vanessi), Will Chase (Fred Graham), Robert Fairchild (Bill), Helene Yorke (Lois), Chuck Cooper (Harry Trevor/Baptista), Richard Kind (Gangster) and John Pankow (Gangster) in a one-night only Benefit Concert Reading of Kiss Me, Kate, with music and lyrics by Cole Porter and book by Sam and Bella Spewack, music direction by Patrick Vaccariello and choreography by Warren Carlyle.

Thursday night at Feinstein's/54 Below, Scott Siegel--the busiest cabaret show producer in town--hosted a tribute to Cole Porter's classic musical, Kiss Me Kate, as part of the 2015 BroadwayWorld Award-nominated 54 Below Sings . . . series. With Siegel at the lectern filling in plot, Musical Director Ross Patterson on piano, and contributions by The Broadway By the Year Chorus, the evening was vivacious and fun.

STC Associate Artistic Director Alan Paul, director of last season's smash hit Man of La Mancha-the best-selling production in the Company's history-and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum (Helen Hayes Award for Outstanding Director, Resident Musical) helms Kiss Me, Kate, with choreography by Michele Lynch (Washington National Opera's Show Boat).

Lilli Vanessi's life is moving up. She is engaged to the rich politician, Harrison Howell, and she is making her comeback to the stage in a production of Shakespeare's The Taming of the Shrew as its leading leading lady, Kate. Just as Lilli thought she would be able to move forward, she is confronted by her past as her ex-husband, Fred Graham, is starring as the leading man, Petruchio, in The Taming of the Shrew.

The Old Globe's presentation of Kiss Me, Kate, the classic musical comedy featuring a book by Sam and Bella Spewack and an iconic score by Cole Porter, will now add a week by popular demand and run through August 9 on the Donald and Darlene Shiley Stage in the Old Globe Theatre, part of the Globe's Conrad Prebys Theatre Center. Tickets for the extension will go on sale this Sunday, July 12 at noon.

Reagle Music Theatre's Summer Season Continues with KISS ME, KATE

Reagle Music Theatre of Greater Boston continues its 47th consecutive summer season with the hilariously entertaining Kiss Me, Kate, from July 9-19, 2015 at the Robinson Theatre (617 Lexington St. Waltham, MA, 02452). Starring Broadway couple Sarah Pfisterer as Lilli Vanessi/Kate (The Phantom of the Opera, Reagle's My Fair Lady) and Rick Hilsabeck as Fred Graham/Petruchio (Billy Elliot, Reagle's My Fair Lady), Cole Porter's hilarious musical recounts the madcap backstage and onstage antics of two feuding couples during a production of The Taming of the Shrew. Reagle will close out its summer season from August 6-16 with Wonderful Town, starring Katie Anne Clarke and Jennifer Ellis. Individual tickets range from $35 to $63; season subscriptions and group tickets are available at a discount.
