This summer will see the inaugural StoryFest held at the National Youth Theatre’s RIBA award-winning headquarters in North London. A month-long festival that demonstrates the NYT’s commitment to championing new work from emerging talent, many of whom are alumni of the NYT themselves. 

Following its critically acclaimed UK tour, The Merchant of Venice 1936 transfers to London’s West End for a limited season at the Criterion Theatre, from 15 February – 23 March.

Casting has been announced for a ground-breaking new production which transports one of Shakespeare’s most enduring classics to 1930’s Britain – The Merchant of Venice 1936 - which will embark on a UK tour this Autumn, beginning at the RSC’s Swan Theatre from Thursday 21 September.

Casting has been announced for The Merchant of Venice, coming to Watford Palace Theatre and HOME Manchester in 2023.

 Kiln Theatre presents the world première of Zodwa Nyoni’s The Darkest Part of the Night. Nancy Medina directs Brianna Douglas, Andrew French, James Clyde, Hannah Morrish, Lee Phillips and Nadia Williams. Two weeks after announcing Footprints Festival, today Jermyn Street Theatre has unveiled its full programme of 43 shows brought together to celebrate the theatre’s reopening this Summer. Running for three months from May to August this jamboree of live work comprises an exciting combination of familiar faces and new talent.

Hot on the heels of the announcement of the cast of 15 Heroines, Jermyn Street Theatre, today reveals the complete line up of actors for its epic reading of The Odyssey.

Sotto Voce has announced a brand new, Covid restriction adhering, outdoor world premiere of RENAISSANCE, a new comedy starring BAFTA and Olivier nominated Haydn Gwynne (Billy Elliot (West End and Broadway) Drop the Dead Donkey, Camilla in C4s The Windsors) and James Corrigan (Edmund in King Lear (West End), Mark Antony in Julius Caesar (RSC).

Continuing their series National Theatre At Home, this week the world is treated to a wonderful version of Shakespeare's Antony and Cleopatra, with truly dazzling performances from Ralph Fiennes and Sophie Okonedo. At the height of both their powers, one of the three rulers of Rome, the once-great Antony, becomes infatuated with Cleopatra, the dramatic Queen of Egypt. Choosing ego and love over duty leads Antony to make some fatal strategic decisions, leading to war, betrayal and death.

Stars of stage and screen including Olivia Colman, Helena Bonham Carter, David Suchet, Dame Penelope Keith, Timothy West, Jamael Westman, Tobias Menzies, Aimee Lou Wood, Grace Saif, Dame Penelope Wilton, and Julie Hesmondhalgh have joined forces to perform Shakespeare's 154 sonnets for Jermyn Street Theatre, a 70-seat studio in London's West End.

Intrigue, passion, rejection, deception, and incurable illnesses populate Shakespeare's All's Well That Ends Well. One of his most famous problem plays, it essentialy sees Helena chasing after her beloved Bertram in pursuit of love. Director Tom Littler scales down the narrative and assembles a cast of six to present an exceptionally instinctive and nostalgic production. He places the action in a cryptic era, using music as a vehicle and memories as the main narration instrument.

For the first time in its twenty-five year history Jermyn Street Theatre is able to announce a full year of programming. Artistic Director Tom Littler, today reveals the full 2020 Season, with an array of work that ranges from world premieres to rare revivals, theatre legends to new talent and literary classics to new writing.

This autumn, the acclaimed Jermyn Street Theatre and the award-winning Guildford Shakespeare Company join forces to present Shakespeare's rarely performed bittersweet comedy All's Well That Ends Well. This will be Guildford Shakespeare Company's first London transfer.
