A brand-new virtual puppet theatre has arrived on our screens, with acts announced for the first two shows on Friday 4th September and Friday 18th September at 8pm respectively.

Having gone their separate ways for almost a year, the poker club are back together to bury their mutual friend. On a journey from Johannesburg to Cape Town the trio trade insinuations, insults, and injuries as they try to dig up the past and bury the present. Driving high-speed through some painful, poignant and often hilarious territory, they arrive at the graveside with some serious injuries and some surprising insights about the nature of male friendship.

Veteran Bay Area performing arts leader Rob Bailis has been appointed Artistic and Executive Director of the Eli & Edythe Broad Stage at the Santa Monica College (SMC) Performing Arts Center effective June 1, 2019. Bailis most recently held posts of Interim Artistic Director and Associate Director of Cal Performances at the University of California, Berkeley, one of North America's largest and most prestigious performing arts presenters. The Broad Stage, located in the heart of Santa Monica, is one of the Los Angeles region's leading performing arts presenters, now in its eleventh season.

Two beautiful and original South African productions for children aged between 2 to 9 years, will delight the little ones (and their parents), at the Baxter Theatre Centre during the school holidays, from 26 to 30 March, at 12 and 2pm daily.

Save the Pedestals, a unique, international, artistic collaboration between the Baxter Theatre Centre, Handspring Puppet Company and Halle Puppet Theatre, makes its African debut at the Baxter Flipside, for four performances only, from 28 to 30 March, at 8pm, with a matinee on Saturday, 30 March at 4pm. This follows its hugely successful world premiere in Halle, Germany, last year.

Joey, the life-sized horse puppet from the National Theatre's acclaimed play War Horse, visited Wembley Park to celebrate today's general public on sale of War Horse coming to the Troubadour Wembley Park Theatre this autumn.

The Wider Earth - the critically acclaimed drama about the young Charles Darwin's expedition on HMS Beagle playing at the custom-built theatre in the Jerwood Gallery at London's Natural History Museum until 24 February - will hold a special VIP Gala Night on 12 February 2019. The gala, hosted by Julia Bradbury, and in the presence of HRH the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, will be held to commemorate Charles Darwin's 210th birthday, and will support The Queen's Commonwealth Trust and the production's official charitable partner The Queen's Commonwealth Canopy.
