According to Baz Bamigboye's latest column, work is well underway for the upcoming gender-bent production of Stephen Sondheim and George Furth's musical Company, and the composer is making considerable alterations to his beloved musical.

The complete cast was announced today for Marianne Elliott's highly anticipated new production of George Furth and Stephen Sondheim's COMPANY which opens at the Gielgud Theatre from 26 September 2018.

Big news came from the Company Twitter when they revealed that the already innovative casting will feature the musical's first same-sex couple. Jonathan Bailey takes on the somewhat newly created role of Jamie (formerly Amy), the character blessed (or cursed) with the unforgettable song 'Not Getting Married Today.' Alex Gaumond will play his soon-to-be husband Paul.

George Blagden is well known for the roles of Athelstan on Vikings and Louis XIV on Versailles, as well as Grantaire in the Les Miserables film. He is currently playing Damis in Tartuffe at the Theatre Royal Haymarket.
