Grammy-winning identical twins and Juilliard grads Peter and Will Anderson present 'Benny Meets Artie' at Feinstein's/54 Below. The Andersons will explore the lives and music of two American cultural icons, clarinetists Benny Goodman & Artie Shaw, featuring their jazz sextet of vocalist Molly Ryan, pianist Rossano Sportiello, drummer Phil Stewart, and bassist Clovis Nicolas. Songs will include swing era hits a?oeSing, Sing Sing,a?? a?oeBegin the Beguine,a?? a?oeStardust,a?? and a?oeMoonglow.a?? Raised in poverty in Chicago, Benny Goodman was a classical clarinet prodigy who soon sparked an international swing craze in the 1930s, and premiered the first jazz concert at Carnegie Hall in 1938. Artie Shaw was a composer, author, and master clarinetist, pushing musical boundaries by blending American swing with European and Latin styles.

Hennepin Theatre Trust is presenting a variety of holiday shows this year to celebrate the Twin Cities holiday season at the Orpheum, State, and Pantages Theatres. The season starts Twin Cities-favorite The New Standards who will once again bring jazz, humor and special guests to their annual holiday show. Best-selling pianist Jim Brickman performs holiday favorites and number-one songs in A Christmas Celebration. The Minneapolis-based vocal group The Blenders celebrate 30 years with their Holiday Soul Tour. Finally, Sounds of Blackness: The Night Before Christmas will showcase the Grammy Award-winning vocal group's talents with a festive, family-friendly performance.
