With sales at this year's Aardklop Arts Festival in Potchefstroom this October growing from strength to strength, Aardklop recently announced that an extra venue has been created that will bring five extra top productions to the festival, offering festivalgoers an even wider range of productions to enjoy.

Lefra's farces are an annual institution in South Africa, and in 2017, fans can look forward to MY MAN SE SKELMPIE SE SKELMPIE SE VROU. The loud-out-loud production, under the direction of Frans Swart, South Africa's king of farce, will run for three performances at the Sand du Plessis Theatre as a part of the Vrystaat Arts Festival.

Lefra Productions is bringing a stage adaptation of Dalene Matthee's classic South African novel, FIELA SE KIND, to the Theatre of Marcellus at Emperors Palace in Johannesburg this June. Adapted by Suzanne van Wijk, the production is produced and directed by Frans Swart.

Farce king Frans Swart's Afrikaans translation of Ray Cooney and John Chapman's runaway hit, DAA' GAAT DIE BRUID! is on stage for the last time at the Atterbury Theatre in Pretoria this January. The original English version, THERE GOES THE BRIDE, is one of Cooney and Chapman's most successful West End farces.

Following the death of South African actress Marga van Rooy yesterday, Frans Swart, the managing director of Lefra Productions paid tribute to the star of VETKOEKPALEIS, MOLLY & WORS and 'N PAW-PAW VIR MY DARLING. The 75-year-old veteran of stage, television and screen passed away following a battle with cancer.

Lefra Productions and RSG's popular Oppiwater Arts Festival, which is presented on board the luxurious MSC Sinfonia, has just been nominated for a Fiesta Award as the most popular festival in 2016. The festival is unique, with no similar festival presented on any other cruiseliner worldwide.

Great excitement is the order of the day at REVUE 2016, where the four finalists in the primary school category of the competition have just been announced. Twelve primary schools were initially selected to take part in in this exciting revue competition, which screens on KykNET HOU!

The six high school semi-finalists for REVUE 2016 were recently announced on the live television series of the same title that has been screening on KykNET NOU! since October. The semi-finalists are Dr EG Jansen High School, Hans Moore High School, HTS Drostdy, Jeugland High School, Kempton Park High School and Marais Viljoen High School.

Lefra Productions is gearing up to stage a theatrical adaptation of Dalene Matthee's beloved novel, FIELA SE KIND, in 2017. This will be the company's third production of FIELA SE KIND, which proved to be widely popular with audiences in its first two stagings.

RSG and Lefra Productions's fourth Oppiwater Arts Festival take place next year from April 30 to May 5 aboard the luxurious MSC Sinfonia. The OPPIWATER ARTS is a unique festival with more than 20 different productions that each play a few performances in the various theatres and venues on the MSC Sinfonia.
