FOX Picks Up Four Dramas for 2019-2020 Season

Fox has ordered four drama pilots to series for the 2019-2020 season. The lineup includes cop/serial killer drama Prodigal Son, starring Tom Payne and Michael Sheen; John Slattery's AI drama neXt; police drama Deputy, starring Stephen Dorff; and the Annie Weisman/Jason Katims sister drama, based on an Australian format.

Inspired by the power struggle between the richest of the Oligarchs and an ambitious Vladimir Putin after the collapse of the Soviet Union, Lin (House of Cards) explores U.S. - Russia relations then and now. Directed by Jackson Gay, and by special arrangement with Robert Ahrens, Mickey Liddell and Michael Mills, Kleptocracy runs January 18 - February 24, 2019 in the Kreeger Theater.

The Public Theater presents Cymbeline, the second show of The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte. Directed by Tony Award winnerDaniel Sullivan and featuring the previously announced Hamish Linklater as Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Lily Rabe as Imogen, Cymbeline runs through Sunday, August 23, and opened last night, August 10. The Public Theater announced complete casting today for CYMBELINE, the second show of The Public's Free Shakespeare in the Park season at the Delacorte. Directed by Tony Award winner Daniel Sullivan and featuring the previously announced Hamish Linklater as Posthumus Leonatus/Cloten and Lily Rabe as Imogen, CYMBELINE begins performances on Thursday, July 23 and runs through Sunday, August 23, with an official press opening on Monday, August 10. The Public begins the Free Shakespeare in the Park season tonight, Wednesday, May 27 for THE TEMPEST, featuring Sam Waterston as Prospero.

On May 3rd, Studio 42 will present the Unproducible works of Meghan Deans - winner of the '13 Unproducible Smackdown (Ashore), Eric Dufault (Year of the Rooster), Brett Epstein - Fan Slam winner (I Loved Sam Stone), Leah Nanako Winkler (Death for Sydney Black), and Lauren Yee (Ching Chong Chinaman). Direction by Liz Carlson (The Playwrights Realm's Lottie in the Late Afternoon), Matt Dickson (INTAR's The Lowest Form of Writing), John Giampietro (EST's Year of the Rooster), and Jesse Jou (Rising Circle Theater Collectives's Say You Heard My Echo). The plays of the Smackdown are produced by Alyssa Anderson, Ying Le, Greg Nobile, Meghan Pressman, and Lico Whitfield.

Critically acclaimed theatre company The Playwrights Realm presents the New York premiere of Lauren Yee's new play The Hatmaker's Wife, directed by recent OBIE Award winner Rachel Chavkin (Natasha, Pierre, and the Great Comet of 1812).
