The U.S. premiere of the Playwrights Realm's production of DOV AND ALI - a new drama by playwright Anna Ziegler and directed by Katherine Kovner - opened at The Cherry Lane Studio Theatre (38 Commerce Street) on Friday, June 12 to enthusiastic reviews. Previews of DOV AND ALI began on June 5, and it will continue to play through June 27.

The Tony Award®-winning Old Globe presents the world premier of Cornelia, by Mark Victor Olsen (Big Love), directed by Ethan McSweeny (In This Corner), to run in the Old Globe Theatre May 16 ? June 21. Melinda Page Hamilton, who will play ?Cornelia,? was in the Globe?s critically acclaimed productions of Bell, Book and Candle and All My Sons. Robert Foxworth is a television veteran but is perhaps best known for his role as ?Bernard Chenowith? on HBO?s Six Feet Under. L.A. Theatre Works Airs Shaw's MAJOR BARBARA 5/9 On KPCC 89.3 FM

This weekend, beginning May 9, L.A. Theatre Works will air its production of Major Barbara by George Bernard Shaw. The broadcast of Major Barbara can be heard locally in Southern California on Saturday from 10pm to midnight on KPCC 89.3 FM, and can also be streamed on demand at www.latw.org.

Exigent Theatre presents HENRI GABLER, a new play by Alexander Burns adapted from Henrik Ibsen's masterpiece HEDDA GABLER, to be directed by Alexander Burns. Mirren, Carter & More Appear In DC Shakespeare Line-up

Shakespeare Theater Company has announced the line-up for their 2009-2010 season.
Phedre, Mrs. Warren's Profession, and The Liar will come to the Shakespeare Theater stages. As You Like It, Rickard II And Henry V, and The Bacchae have been previously announced.
Phedre will star Helen Mirren, and Dixie Carter will star in Mrs Warren's Profession.
Ion by Euripides is currently playing at Sidney Harman Hall and will run through 4/12/09.

Page 73 proudly announces that Heidi Schreck is the recipient of the 2008 P73 Playwriting Fellowship. As part of her fellowship year, For her fellowship year, Heidi will be working on a new play inspired by her own experience as a reporter in Siberia and St. Petersburg; this new play questions the limits of friendship and explores the mythic power still ascribed to the relationship between t he United States and Russia.

The results of the 2008 Executive Board Election were announced on November 17, 2008 at the annual SSDC membership meeting in New York. Joining the leadership of President Karen Azenberg, Executive Vice President Larry Carpenter and Treasurer Doug Hughes are director/choreographer Kathleen Marshall as Vice President and director Mary B. Robinson as Secretary. New members Joe Calarco and Leigh Silverman joined the Board, along with incumbents Rob Ashford, Edie Cowan, Ethan McSweeny, Tom Moore, Lisa Peterson, Daniel Sullivan, David Warren and Chay Yew. After twelve years of valued service, Mark Brokaw and Sheldon Epps rotated off the Board.

Ethan Hawke joins the previously announced roster of performers that includes LAB members Eric Bogosian, Elizabeth Canavan, Max Casella, John Doman, Kevin Geer, Didi O'Connell, John Ortiz, Portia, Elizabeth Rodriguez, Daphne Rubin-Vega, Michael Stuhlbarg, Yul Vazquez, and David Zayas, among others.
