Sharon Playhouse has announced complete casting for its 2017 Season. The season kicks off with MINOR CHARACTER: SIX TRANSLATIONS OF UNCLE VANYA, created by New Saloon (Morgan Green, Madeline Wise, and Milo Cramer), followed by FAR AWAY by Caryl Churchill (Love and Information). The season will conclude with a new, intimate chamber production of Meredith Willson's THE MUSIC MAN. In a shift that begins this season, Morgan Green (William Shakespeare's Mom) will direct all three productions, showcasing the talents and range of the rising director.

Five-time Obie Award-winning theater company Clubbed Thumb has announced casting for this season's SUMMERWORKS, its annual series of new plays.

Woodshed Collective has announced the '20/20 Reading Series,' a series of readings taking place in 2017 of anti-fascist and political plays speaking to the current political climate.

Dan LeFranc's RANCHO VIEJO, now receiving its world premiere in a handsome Playwrights Horizons production featuring a terrific cast, is one of those three-hour long plays that may find you tempted to flip through your program at any time for a clue as to what the heck is going on.

Playwrights Horizons presents Rancho Viejo, the world premiere of a new play by Dan LeFranc (The Big Meal at Playwrights, Sixty Miles to Silver Lake, In the Labyrinth) and directed by three-time Obie Award winner Daniel Aukin (Placebo, This at Playwrights; Fool For Love; Bad Jews; 4000 Miles; [sic]). The production opened on December 6 at the company's Mainstage Theater (416 West 42nd Street) and will play through Friday, December 23. Manny Kladitis, Jeffrey Chrzczon, Terry Schnuck, Kathleen K. Johnson, Jack Lane, Radio Mouse Entertainment, Schaffert/Hummel, Driemeyer-Sills Productions, Michael Guccione, David Gersten, Erach Screwvala, and The Shubert Organization, by special arrangement with Cranberry Productions, have announcde that Tony and Drama Desk Award Winner Cady Huffman will join the cast of Shear Madness beginning June 20th. Cady will assume the role of Mrs. Shubert, originated by Lynne Wintersteller. Also joining the cast that day will be Jonathan Randell Silver, most recently seen in Please Continue at Ensemble Studio Theatre, who will assume the role of Mike Thomas, currently played by Ethan Dubin.

Fox 5 anchor Ernie Anastos checked out the hilarious whodunit Shear Madness at the holiday weekend matinee.  

Now BroadwayWorld can report that Adam Gerber, who created the role of 'Mike Thomas' in the off-Broadway play, will step into Kushnier's part; previews for PARAMOUR begin April 16 on Broadway.

In honor of the occasion, Bruce Jordan and Marilyn Abrams, co-creators, surrounded by his cast and other company members, served up anniversary cake.  

After 15 years, 240 world premiere theater pieces, and being hailed 'the premiere short play festival in the Midwest' by the Chicago Reader, Collaboraction will stage its 15th and final SKETCHBOOK Festival at the place where it all started, the Chopin Theatre, 1543 W. Division St., Chicago, today, January 14, through January 24, 2016.
