TV Land will debut the Emmy(R) Award-winning comedy 'The Golden Girls' on Saturday, March 16, it was announced today. Marathons will launch on Saturday and Sunday, March 16 and 17, from 3-11pm, followed by a week-long primetime tribute to each of the characters. Then, fans take over the air! Viewers can go online now* and choose their favorite episodes on TV Land's Facebook Page, then watch the results on Friday, March 22 from 7-10pm. After launch week, the show will settle into its regular timeslot of 7pm, Monday through Saturday, and 5pm on Sundays. Fans of 'The Golden Girls' can keep up with the series on Facebook and TV Land's Tumblr, which will be posting fun activities like tips for throwing the best viewing party and character 'sass-offs' all week long and beyond!

Golden Girl and former Broadway star Rue McClanahan, has sadly passed away at 1am today, June 3rd at the age of 76 according to her manager. McClanahan, who suffered a stroke in January, is said to have had another massive stroke early this morning.

"The Golden Gays", this fall's runaway hit Drag Musical Spoof and Tribute is back in 2010 with their first tour. Along with the tour comes some exciting additions. Vic Carmona will play the twisted Therapist who suggests "Drag Therapy" to his 4 patients and sets up the original plot for this new tribute. In addition to the LifeGroup Los Angeles, the show will add some other charities including the Aids Assistance Program ( Palm Springs), and Certified Humane (Humane Farm Animal Care Nationwide). The show runs in Los Angeles for six performances only: January 22nd,23rd,24th, 29th, 30th, and 31st. It then moves on to Palm Springs for 3 performances February 5th, 6th and 7th. Diehard fans of TV's The Golden Girls will love this cute spoof called The Golden Gays. Yes, its humor could be more rollicking and spicy - this is a Nite Club after all - and it should be a tad shorter, but I had a great time and loved the cast, especially John W. McLaughlin as Dorothy/Damian and John Downey III as Blanche/Blaine.
