Hannah Lavery's new adaptation to retell Stevenson's classic Victorian tale, Jekyll and Hyde from the perspective of the women who occupy the peripheries of the original story.

Set within the theatre's picturesque Explorers' Garden, Alice in Wonderland World will take audiences on an interactive, journey, where they will travel along the Playing Card Pathway, through the Mad Hatter's Tea Party, a Gigantic Game of Chess in the Red Queen's Pillared Garden, the White Queen's Palace appearing amongst the trees, see the giant cuddly Caterpillar and join in the search for the Cheshire Cat!

Inspired by the River Tay and its surrounding landscape - including Scotland's multi-award-winning, world-renowned outdoor extravaganza, The Enchanted Forest, with whom these commissions were in partnership - the nine works were originally performed last year as audio dramas, podcasts, short films.

From 7-10 July, Pitlochry Festival Theatre's open-air amphitheatre will première a new stage adaptation by the theatre's Artistic Director, Elizabeth Newman, of Fyodor Dostoevsky's 1848 short story, White Nights: A Sentimental Story from The Diary of a Dreamer.

Directed by Pitlochry Festival Theatre’s Artistic Director, Elizabeth Newman, Adventures with the Painted People is a compelling love story, exploring the value of history and the power of writing. Lucius is a cultured Roman officer, captured by the Picts and about to be sacrificed. Eithne is a wise Pictish woman, who wants to record her people's history in writing, a skill they do not yet have. She makes a deal - she will rescue Lucius, in exchange for him teaching her to write. So, they must flee - not by road, the Romans have not built those yet, but down river...

This summer will be an entirely outdoor rep season in various locations across the Pitlochry campus. This twenty-two strong acting Ensemble will be performing in Pitlochry for different lengths of time throughout the summer, some for a week, some for two and others for many months.
