Winners have been announced for the 2020 BroadwayWorld Orlando Awards - which were back bigger than ever, celebrating the best in local theatre of the past decade! 

Magnet Theater presents The (Virtual) New York Musical Improv Festival from July 14-18, 2020 on their virtual stage at twitch.tv/themagnettheater/. Tickets are available for purchase to help keep the festival and the Magnet Theater operating, however, all are welcome to watch every show at no charge.

Dragonfly Studio and Productions joins Tinderbox Improv Playhouse to bring South Florida ImprovU's Anthony Francis to Central Florida for two high energy Improv workshops and one side splitting performance on February 29. 2020!

Magnet Theater presents The Eleventh Annual New York Musical Improv Festival from March 12 - 15, 2020 at 254 W. 29th Street, ground floor (between 7th and 8th Avenues), NYC. Most tickets are $5-$15 and feature performances by two to four different musical improv acts per show. Festival Workshops are also being offered to people of all levels of experience! Elaine Pechacek, award winning composer & playwright, is proud to present an encore concert performance of song selections from the recent Dr. Phillips Center production of her and Katie Hammond's musical SEASONS on October 11 & 12, 2019 at 8:00pm in Ocoee, Florida at Dragonfly Studio 129. The evening will feature recent cast members: Clare Lopez and Molly Schoolmeester, along with Elaine Pechacek performing a few selections including anecdotes about the musical's history and creation.

It's Improvised at the 129! returns to Ocoee with an all-star cast of improv actors and musical improvisers.

Late Spring.  Early Summer.  An Autumn Afternoon.  Am I describing the time periods of 2014's Orlando Fringe darling SEASONS or the seminal works of film director Yasujirō Ozu?  Ironically, I had watched Ozu's Late Spring a few days before heading out to Dr. Phillips Center to attend the opening performance of SEASONS. As a result, Ozu's post-war film about parenthood and reluctant marriage was on my mind for much of the show, drawing parallels I had not expected, but certainly welcomed.

The sketch and improv comedy group Gaggle Reflex is returning to Ocoee's Dragonfly Studio 129 on Saturday, August 10 at 8:00 p.m. The show, called GAGGLE REFLEX presents SPILL THE TEA: WISH YOU WERE HERE!, will feature guest actor Matt Tremmel joining in on a mixture of scripted sketches and improvised scenes and songs exploring the predictable unpredictability of vacations. Whether it involves traveling to faraway locales or staycations to get away from a daily routine, or traveling with friends and family or solo trips to meet new tribes, Gaggle Reflex will examine all aspects of vacations.

From Orlando-based writers Elaine Pechacek and Katie Hammond, New Generation Theatrical presents SEASONS THE MUSICAL. SEASONS will play at the Dr. Phillips Center's Alexis and Jim Pugh Theater September 12-21.

IT'S IMPROVISED AT THE 129! returns to Ocoee's Dragonfly Studios on Friday, June 21 At 8:00 P.m.

The Valentine's edition of It's Improvised at the 129! focuses on the theme of love as the Central Florida theater community explores the rewards and challenges of couples that are both performers. This month's special guests include couples Jamie and Daryl Black, Gina and John Hunter, Jodi Chase and John Pelky, Tiffany Anthony & Lucindo Teixeira, as well as Alexandra Love Sarton, owner of the COAL Space. Each of the couples have improvised and/or acted individually and together at such venues as SAK Comedy Lab, Walt Disney World, Universal Studios and at independent performance spaces throughout Central Florida. Alex Love Sarton also performs as an improviser and singer and leads meditation and enlightenment sessions focused on the beauty and love of life.

DRAGONFLY STUDIO & PRODUCTIONS has announced the cast of the upcoming cabaret, CASUALTY OF LOVE!, the second installment from the series: CELEBRATE? DON'T MIND IF I DO! This fun look at relationships is in celebration of a holiday some of us have come to know all too well: Single's Awareness Day! When best to celebrate this holiday you ask? Well on Valentine's Day of course!

A DREAM IS A WISH! is the first installment of the new cabaret series entitled: CELEBRATE? DON'T MIND IF I DO! being produced by Dragonfly Studio & Productions located in Downtown Ocoee, FL. The Dragonfly production team is presenting a unique and innovative monthly series based on obscure or seldom celebrated holidays. The evening will be filled with hilarious yet poignant anecdotes surrounded by some of your favorite musical theater tunes!

Orlando's local improv and comedy scene will be in the spotlight as the 2019 season of It's Improvised at the 129! Hosted by Four First Names kicks off on Friday, January 11, 2019 at 8:00 p.m. at Dragonfly Studio 129 in Downtown Ocoee.  This month's special guests include Central Florida improv teams The Audacity, Kombustible S'mores and Mama's Comedy Club.
