Broadway Sings at the PS 166, the Richard Rodgers School, has become an Upper West Side tradition, inviting musical theater actors and musicians who's credits span Broadway, Off-Broadway, National Tours, London's West End and the most notable National Theaters. The cabaret style show is crafted with New York families and a multi-generational audience in mind, also featuring Q&A with theater industry professionals who call the neighborhood home.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Producing Artistic Director) has announced that 3-time Tony Award nominee Marin Mazzie will assume the role of Anna Leonowens in its Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I beginning Tuesday, May 3 at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street).

As BroadwayWorld reported earlier this week, Ken Watanabe's return to THE KING AND I has been postponed after recently undergoing endoscopic surgery in Japan. Now we've confirmed with a Lincoln Center representative that he will officially return to THE KING AND I on Thursday, March 17. Hoon Lee, who is currently playing the King of Siam, will play his final performance on Wednesday, March 16.

Lincoln Center Theater (under the direction of André Bishop, Producing Artistic Director) has announced the casting of a succession of Kings to star this spring in its Tony Award-winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I, directed by Bartlett Sher, at the Vivian Beaumont Theater (150 West 65 Street). Hoon Lee, who is currently starring as the King of Siam, will play his final performance in the role on Sunday, February 28.

BroadwayWorld has just learned that Lincoln Center Theater's Tony Award winning production of Rodgers & Hammerstein's THE KING AND I will be the only Broadway production performing on New Year's Eve - Thursday, December 31, at 7:00 pm. In honor of the holiday, Lincoln Center Theater will offer complimentary glasses of Champaign to patrons prior to the performance that evening.

Danielle Hope's debut album Bring The Future Faster was recorded at 54 Below in New York and has recently been released by Broadway Records. Shooting to stardom following her triumph in BBC's Over The Rainbow and successively becoming the West End's Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz, ever since her feet haven't touched the ground once. Hope went on to star as Eponine in Les Miserables, the Narrator in Joseph and his Technicolour Dreamcoat and is currently touring the UK as Maria in The Sound of Music - all massive roles to have portrayed by the age of 23! She enjoyed a superb debut concert in London's Delfont Room in June last year which led onto her American solo debut heard on this recording.

The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher have announced a partnership with The Sean Kimberling Testicular Cancer Foundation, to celebrate Movember, the global charity that raises funds and awareness to combat prostate cancer and mental health challenges. Movember, which invites men to join the movement by growing a moustache for the 30-days of November, is a charity movement especially close to the heart of Peter and the Starcatcher's own mustachioed pirate, Black Stache, who rightly claims "the 'stache is on everyone's lips…."

The producers of Peter and the Starcatcher announced this morning that the audience and critics' favorite will play its final performance at New World Stages on Sunday, January 12, 2014, after almost two years, five Tony Awards, and 645 performances (both on Broadway and at New World Stages). Written by Tony Award nominee Rick Elice and directed by Tony Award-winner Roger Rees and Tony Award-nominee Alex Timbers, Peter and the Starcatcher opened on Broadway on April 15, 2012 and ran until January 20, 2013, before beginning performances at New World Stages (340 West 50th St.) on Monday, March 18, 2013.
