The Jazz Education Network (JEN) will hold it's inaugural conference 'Shaping the Future of Jazz Education' on the campus of the University of Missouri - St. Louis May 20-22, 2010. Barry Harris is an Internationally renowned Jazz Pianist, Composer and Teacher. Strongly influenced by Bud Powell, Thelonious Monk, and Charlie Parker Harris is unquestionably the foremost exponent of the music of Powell, Tadd Dameron, and Monk, and is one of the few jazz musicians of the late 20th and 21st Centuries who can teach and play the music with equal clarity.

Angelo Parra's The Devil's Music: The Life and Blues of Bessie Smith will be performed at the New Brunswick Playhouse, running March 3?29. Miche Braden, who portrayed Bessie Smith in the previous productions of the play, will recreate the title role once more.
