A bevy of performers bringing a new wave of fresh perspective to the world of ballet, plus internationally renowned Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater, have just been added to Fire Island Dance Festival’s luminous lineup.

An electrifying roster of dancers from around the world will take the stage July 15-17, 2022, at Fire Island Dance Festival. 

Apart from the infectious, wall-to-wall music, which is rousingly played live on stage by all the actors, what makes Million Dollar Quartet a crowd-pleaser is the interpersonal dramas driven by the egos of four pop music pioneers. 

When the award-winning actress and playwright, Jodi Long, took her first steps on the Broadway stage in Sidney Lumet's production of “Nowhere to Go But Up,” she was entering a professional world that ran through her family's bloodline. Her Vaudevillian parents had long trod the boards – in fact, as part of a popular song and dance act, they even appeared on the Ed Sullivan show in the 1950s.

Bucks County Playhouse Executive Producer Robyn Goodman, Producing Director Alexander Fraser and Producer Josh Fiedler announced titles and creative teams for the theater’s 2022 season, which will launch May 20.

For Keegan Theatre's regional première of Yoga Play by Dipika Guha, Set Designer Matthew J. Keenan provides a sleek, beige unit set onto which Jeremy Bennett's projections shine, pop, narrate, move, and comment. (Be sure to read the changing smoothie descriptions in the Jojomon canteen.) Cindy Landrum Jacobs dresses the set with useful objects which multi-task effortlessly, and Alberto Segarra's lights unify everyone's work. Sound Designer Dan Deiter lets the audience down once in Act I when a phone conversation with a character's mother is garbled and plot points are thus muffled. Otherwise, a very complicated sound plot enhances the production. Shadia Hafiz' costume choices suit southern California corporate offices and yoga studios everywhere.

On Sunday, February 9, 1964, close to 50 percent of U.S. television viewers tuned in to the number-one variety show of the era, “The Ed Sullivan Show,” to see the American debut of a British group called The Beatles. This was the beginning of a cultural phenomenon known as the British invasion.

The American Theatre Guild will present the Eugene engagement of The British Invasion – Live on Stage. This production is part of the BROADWAY IS BACK IN EUGENE SERIES and will take the Hult Center stage April 4–5, 2022.

Alberta Bair Theater presents the internationally acclaimed jukebox musical The British Invasion — Live on Stage, which features the hottest music from the 1960s, on Saturday, March 19 at 7:30 p.m.

On May 1, 2022 at UIS Performing Arts Center, audiences will experience The British Invasion - Live on Stage an all-new live concert event that showcases the most popular music from that era.
