PRIMARY TRUST Begins Previews Tonight At Roundabout's Laura Pels Theatre

Roundabout Theatre Company's world-premiere production of Primary Trust by Eboni Booth, directed by Knud Adams begins previews tonight, May 4. Primary Trust features Eric Berryman as “Bert,” Emmy winner William Jackson Harper as “Kenneth,” Obie winner April Matthis as “Wally's Waiter & others,” Jay O. Sanders as “Clay & others,” and Luke Wygodny as “musician.”

Primary Trust begins preview performances on Thursday, May 4, 2023 and opens officially on Thursday, May 25, 2023 at the Laura Pels Theater in the Harold and Miriam Steinberg Center for Theatre (111 West 46th Street). This year's series of readings will feature Asian American and Pacific Islander playwrights: Prince Gomolvilas, Velina Hasu Houston, Victoria Nalani Kneubuhl, and Anuvab Pal.

Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards Announce First And Second Rounds Of 2022-23 Recipients

Theatre Communications Group (TCG), the national organization for theatre, has announced the recipients of the first and second rounds of the 2022-23 Edgerton Foundation New Play Awards. The awards, totaling $725,000, allow 17 productions extra time for the development and rehearsal of new plays with the entire creative team, hoping to extend the life of the world premiere play after its first run.

Kristolyn Lloyd (Dear Evan Hansen) is joining Roundabout Theatre Company's new Broadway production of 1776 as “John Adams,” directed by Jeffrey L. Page and Diane Paulus, and co-produced with the American Repertory Theater (ART), beginning tonight, October 25.
