SamJam Productions will present God is A Comedian by Denise Manning. This self-produced and crowd funded Comedy Special is created by and for Black Womxn. SamJam productions is a Black owned production company started and created by Denise Manning with a mission statement of producing work for and by Black womxn.

Caitlin Kinnunen will be this week’s guest on ANXIETY AND THE ARTIST podcast. Kinnunen sits down with podcast host Allison Sheff (Smokey Joe’s Café) to talk about her early experiences with panic attacks on stage, making peace with your anxiety, and the necessary changes we’d like to see in the industry to better support artists' mental health. 

This past year has been a time of change for theatre, and one of the organizations leading the charge has been the Broadway Advocacy Coalition- founded by a group of Broadway artists in 2016.

Theatre Journal The Flashpaper, in partnership with Broadway Advocacy Coalition, will host an Open Forum on January 17, 2021, at 3pm to explore precise ways the industry can make theatre more just in 2021 and beyond. 

The Broadway Advocacy Coalition has announced the inaugural class of fellows selected to participate in the BAC Artivism Fellowship, created to support artist-activists using their tools to have an impact on the world around them.

Gulfshore Playhouse, Naples' premier professional regional theatre, will begin its 2019-20 season in a big way by presenting Bedlam's 'Saint Joan.' The lauded production from the critically acclaimed New York-based theatre company will run Oct. 19 through Nov. 3.

Alabama Shakespeare Festival, in partnership with Bedlam theatre company, presents William Shakespeare's Hamlet and George Bernard Shaw's Saint Joan in repertory on the Octagon Stage beginning September 5 and running through October 6.

Yale Repertory Theatre presents the world premiere of CADILLAC CREW by Tori Sampson, directed by Jesse Rasmussen, April 26-May 18, at Yale Repertory Theatre (1120 Chapel Street). Opening Night is Thursday, May 2.

The new play BEDAGGERED by Lynn Clay Byrne (The Sextant) will have industry readings on Friday, November 16th at 11:00AM and 3:00PM at Ripley Grier Studios.

Watching Saint Joan, something seems missing in Bedlam's informal and intimate production. Maybe it is the grandeur of Europe's royal and religious court or the dazzling array of characters being brought vividly to life. Whatever it is, this production seems under produced, and that, when involving the great George Bernard Shaw is a cardinal sin.

Folger Theatre concludes its 2017/18 season with a special engagement of George Bernard Shaw's epic portrait of Saint Joan, presented by the acclaimed New York-based Bedlam theater company. Saint Joan will be directed by Bedlam's Artistic Director Eric Tucker (the award-winning director of Sense and Sensibility at Folger Theatre) and features a cast of four, including Tucker, playing over 25 parts. Aundria Brown is the martyred heroine of France, Joan of Arc.
