Two theatres in their first year of Equity eligibility received the most awards at the gala 47th Annual Equity Jeff Awards held at Drury Lane Oakbrook on Monday, October 5, which celebrated a season of outstanding productions.
Dallas Theater Center's World Premiere of New Musical STAGGER LEE Begins Tonight

This month, Dallas Theater Center will produce the world premiere of the brand new musical Stagger Lee, book and lyrics by Meadows Prize recipient Will Power. Stagger Lee, which takes its title from the century-old folk song, is directed by Patricia McGregor with music by Will Power and Justin Ellington. Stagger Lee was partially developed in workshops in collaboration with the Meadows School of the Arts, Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas as a part of Will Powers' Meadows Prize residency. Stagger Lee begins previews tonight, January 21 with a Pay-What-You-Can performance and runs through Sunday, February 15.

LCT3/Lincoln Center Theater's production of brownsville song (b-side for tray), a new play by Kimber Lee, directed byPatricia McGregor, opened on October 20 at the Claire Tow Theater (150 West 65 Street). This New York premiere, which features Sheldon Best, Sun Mee Chomet, Lizan Mitchell, Chris Myers and Taliyah Whitaker, is playing a limited engagement through Sunday, November 16.
