New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, shared with Broadway World a first look into their new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Waiting for Godot (Vartn Af Godot), translated to Yiddish by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Currently in previews at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003) and performing through Sunday, January 27th, 2019. Official opening is Sunday, January 6th at 2:00 P.M.. Waiting for Godot performs in Yiddish with English super-titles.
Eli Rosen Steps Into WAITING FOR GODOT In Yiddish, Replacing Rafael Goldwaser

Eli Rosen has stepped into the role of Vladimir in the New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, production of Waiting for Godot in Yiddish (Vartn Af Godot), translated by Shane Baker, and directed by Ronit Muszkatblit. Rosen replaces previously announced Rafael Goldwaser, who has departed the company due to unforeseen circumstances unrelated to the production.

New Yiddish Rep, in association with The Theater at the 14th Street Y, is pleased to present a fresh new production of Samuel Beckett's masterpiece Waiting for Godot (Vartn Af Godot), translated by Shane Baker, and directed by The 14th Street Y's artistic director of Arts & Culture, Ronit Muszkatblit. Waiting for Godot will perform in Yiddish with English super-titles for a five-week limited engagement from Sunday, December 24th, 2018 through Sunday, January 27th, 2019 at The Theater at the 14th Street Y (344 East 14th Street at 1st Avenue, New York, NY 10003). New Yiddish Rep's production of Clifford Odets' 1935 masterpiece AWAKE AND SING! begins performances today (Saturday) at 2 pm, with Opening Night set for December 6th at the Theater at the 14th Street Y, 344 East 14 Street (between First & Second Aves.) A Yiddish version of AWAKE AND SING! was produced on Broadway by WPA's Federal Theatre Project in 1938 and it is this translation that is being performed in the current Off-Broadway revival with English supertitles.
