Geva Theatre Center's 2015 Fielding Studio Series continues with A Body of Water by Lee Blessing. This production comes to Geva from The Kitchen Theatre Company in Ithaca and is directed by Michele Minnick. The production begins performances tonight, March 19 and runs in the Fielding Nextstage through April 5.

This uncensored, highly charged one-man tour-de-force is a hilarious and impassioned examination of the corrupting influence of money and the pursuit of happiness. Two strangers meet -- a rugged, powerful middle-aged man and a young, athletic man who might be a student. A sexual contract is established between them but suspicion and violence ensue. Yet by morning an inseparable bond has joined the men together and they are changed forever. The play is evocative of the homecoming of Odysseus. The author, Vincent Sessa, is known for profoundly nuanced plays about men and women in personal, often political struggle. Theater for the New City will present the play's premiere run today, January 1 to 25, 2015, directed by John Michael DiResta.

About Face Theatre, in association with Justin Brill, launches its 2014-15 season with Methtacular!, written and performed by Steven Strafford and directed by Adam Fitzgerald. In this Chicago premiere, Strafford shares his brutally honest and often comedic story of survival in the underground world of Chicago's crystal meth scene. Monica West has joined the cast of the kef theatrical production of IT'S ONLY KICKBALL, STUPID -- the new play by Caroline Prugh and directed by Adam Fitzgerald.
