It was appropriate that two-time Tony Award winner William Finn was present at The First Annual Berkshire Theatre Award ceremony held in Pittsfield MA. on Sunday November 13th. Mr. Finn won a Tony for The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee which was home grown up in The Berkshires at Barrington Stage Company. Although he didn't have any work in contention for the prestigious award, Finn did accept a few 'Berkies' for some artists who could not receive their awards in person.

Shakespeare & Company will present a staged reading of William Shakespeare's masterpiece, Hamlet, on Saturday, October 8th at 7pm. Featuring Finn Wittrock of American Horror Story and The Big Short, and other special guests, the reading will be presented in the Tina Packer Playhouse, and will be directed by Kevin G. Coleman, Shakespeare & Company's Director of Education and a 2016 Tony Award nominee.

A.C.T. favorite and Academy Award nominee, David Strathairn (Underneath the Lintel at A.C.T.; film: 'Good Night, and Good Luck,' 'Lincoln,' 'The Second Best Exotic Marigold Hotel'), returns to American Conservatory Theater (A.C.T.) for a three-week engagement of Joseph Dougherty's Chester Bailey beginning today, May 25 at A.C.T.'s Strand Theater. The production is currently scheduled to run through June 12.

University Press of Kentucky author David J. Bettez has been named the recipient of the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation's 2015 Colonel Joseph Alexander Award for his book Kentucky Marine: Major General Logan Feland and the Making of the Modern USMC. The Marine Corps Heritage Awards are presented by the Marine Corps Heritage Foundation annually to both marines and civilians in recognition of the outstanding work that these men and women have accomplished, which aids in the expansion and preservation of Marine Corps history.
Casting, Dates Set for Shakespeare & Company's 2015 Season; Launches May 22

Shakespeare & Company has finalized casting for its 38th performance season, and released a complete schedule of Opening Night dates. The announcement was made this week by Interim Artistic Directors Ariel Bock and Jonathan Croy, along with a positive report from Interim Managing Director Stephen D. Ball on the Company's box office successes to date. Shakespeare & Company's season opens on May 22 with The How and The Why, by Sarah Treem.
