Doug Nevin and Michael Urie, in partnership with Rattlestick Playwrights Theater presented a reading of Chay Yew's A Language of Their Own on June 23rd as part of Pride Plays, a festival of play readings commemorating the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising at Rattlestick Playwrights Theater in New York. Dangerous When Wet: Booze, Sex, and My Mother directed by David Drake is a sodomite's showdown between the bottle and his Texas tornado of a mother Mama Jean based on Brickhouse's critically-acclaimed memoir.

BroadwayWorld has learned that Tony nominated actor Tom Hewitt will take on the title role in Sweeney Todd at Provincetown Theater this summer. The role of Mrs. Lovett will be played by Trish LaRose.

The Provincetown Theater is honored to partner with the Truro Center for the Arts at Castle Hill in producing this 14th Annual Provincetown Dance Festival. The festival will include seven companies, totaling some 20 dancers of various and eclectic styles and disciplines for two performances only: Friday, June 21 and Saturday, June 22 at 7:30pm at the Provincetown Theater at 238 Bradford Street, Provincetown, MA.

Produced at their playhouse (238 Bradford Street in Provincetown, MA), August: Osage County opens on Thursday, May 9th at 7pm. Joe's Pub, a program and venue of The Public Theater, announces the new class of Joe's Pub Working Group (JPWG), the venue's artist development program dedicated to enhancing the career sustainability and growth of performing artists. Entering its fifth year, JPWG welcomes five artists performer and songwriter Migguel Anggelo, composter and vocalist Trevor Bachman, comedian and performance artist Becca Blackwell, jazz musician and composer Yacine Boulares, and singer-songwriter Treya Lam as the core group that represents the diversity and scope of the nightly programming at Joe's Pub.

A diverse committee of 40 community members works alongside our Producing Artistic Director Stephanie Gularte each year to read and evaluate over 500 new play submissions from up-and-coming playwrights across the globe.
