Beck Center for the Arts has announced its 2021-2022 Professional Theater Season filled with entertaining and engaging titles that include hilarious comedies, musicals, and the eleventh annual collaboration with Baldwin Wallace University Music Theatre program.  

After a much smaller, socially-distant season inside the company’s Showtime Stage on Red Bank Road, The Children’s Theatre of Cincinnati is ready to roll out the red carpet and welcome patrons home to the Taft Theatre in Downtown Cincinnati starting this October 2021.

The Children's Theatre of Cincinnati already announced Disney Channel's smash hit movie musical, DISNEY'S DESCENDANTS, is coming to life on stage as the opening title of its 101st season at the Taft Theatre.

ELF, the musical has become a traditional holiday favorite in the Bayou City and we are excited to see this whimsical story made popular by the movie starring Will Ferrell. ELF the musical has music by Matthew Sklar, lyrics by Chad Beguelin, book by Thomas Meehan and Bob Martin and is based on the New Line Cinema Film written by David Berenbaum. This production is directed and choreographed by Dan Knechtges

First Stage is thrilled to announce that ELF a?" The Musical, First Stage's holiday musical based on the beloved 2003 New Line Cinema film written by David Berenbaum, has surpassed ticket sales goals by over $87,000, making it the highest grossing production in First Stage history. The previous sales record was set with First Stage's premiere production of A CHARLIE BROWN CHRISTMAS in 2015. 

Luckily, for audiences at Crossville's Cumberland County Playhouse (where Elf, The Musical runs through December 21 in a delightful and sparkling production helmed by producing director Bryce McDonald), the role of Buddy is entrusted to Chris Hallowes, who has proven himself the personification of the term a?oesong-and-dance mana?? during his tenure at the Playhouse, and who once again proves his mettle with his latest onstage assignment. Were it not for the fact we've always considered Hallowes a star, we'd say Buddy is a starmaking performance for him.

The Way Off Broadway Dinner Theatre will present a staging of Elf Jr. a?" The Musical as a special Family Theatre Holiday Event for the upcoming Christmas season. Throughout the past year, I've written quite often about Nashville's Chase Miller and his tremendous talents, remarkable stage presence and startling ability to successfully morph from one character to another completely unlike the first (or any to follow). Miller is rather insanely talented and any director worth her or his salt would be deliriously happy to have the serious triple threat in any show on their drawing board.

Without a doubt, there is a Santa Claus! Barter Theatre presents "Elf: The Musical" Nov. 16 through Dec. 30. Based on the iconic holiday film, "Elf: The Musical" promises a jolly time for all this holiday season!
