Legendary Broadway Music Director Darren Cohen signs on as Vocal Harmony Specialist and Music Director for The Youth Orchestra of the Low Country's 40th anniversary concert series kickoff performance 'Absolutely Andrew'. "Absolutely Andrew" is a musical tribute to legendary Broadway composer, Sir Andrew Lloyd Webber, that will feature pieces from each of his Broadway hits including 'Evita", 'Cats", and 'Phantom of the Opera".

Barrington Stage Company (BSC), under the leadership of Julianne Boyd, Artistic Director, and Tristan Wilson, Managing Director, announces four new Associate Artists. Formed in 2010, the Associate Artists Program's inaugural honorees were composer/lyricist William Finn, actor/director Christopher Innvar and playwright Mark St. Germain. This year's new Associate Artists are music director Darren R. Cohen, actors Mark H. Dold and Debra Jo Rupp, and production stage manager Renee Lutz.

Kritzer, Risch & Ashford to Star in Barrington's GUYS AND DOLLS

BroadwayWorld has learned that Leslie Kritzer, Annaleigh Ashford and Mathew Risch will lead a production of Guys and Dolls at Barrington Stage in Vermont as Miss Adelaide, Sarah Brown, and Sky Masterson, respectively. Rehearsals will begin on May 24, 2011, with an opening night of June 15, 2011. The production is announced to run through July 16, 2011. John Rando will direct.

Wallenberg, a new musical drama starring Scott Mikita (Broadway's The Phantom of the Opera) opened this past Saturday night, October 30, at the White Plains Performing Arts Center. The opening night celebration was held at Blue in White Plains. Wallenberg, which launches WPPAC's 5-show mainstage season, will run through November 21, 2010.

Beach, Hoty & Lewis To Lead Music Circus Season

Casting for the 60th Music Circus season is nearing completion. After auditioning performers in New York, Los Angeles and Sacramento, California Musical Theatre Artistic Director Glenn Casale is finalizing the acting company for the seven-show season at the Wells Fargo Pavilion. The company is expected to include Broadway veterans, including Tony Award nominees, television comedians, up-and-coming young actors and plenty of returning Music Circus favorites. Sunday night, December 10th at Joe's Pub at the Public Theater, BroadwayWorld.com celebrated the holidays with an exciting, star-studded concert to raise money for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS. It also blew the roof out! Santa, his elves and everything but the kitchen sink were on show and brought cheer and cheers for all. The cast dressed to kill and thrill.
