ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK creator Jenji Kohan has confirmed to US Weekly that Laura Prepon, who announced last fall that she would be departing the Netflix hit during its upcoming second season, will stick around a little longer than expected.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kohan is currently developing an untitled period piece drama, which she will also write alongside ALPHAS' Bruce Miller and Tracy Miller.

London-based Punchdrunk-best known in New York as the creators of Sleep No More-just opened its first venture into restaurants with The Heath at The McKittrick Hotel (542 W 27th Street, New York, NY), one of New York's most unique nightlife and entertainment destinations. In collaboration with EMURSIVE (Jonathan Hochwald, Arthur Karpati, and Randy Weiner) and Chef R.L. King, Punchdrunk has crafted a dining experience in the spirit of Sleep No More to compliment Chef King's menu, which is a modern take on classic American and British fare. Those dining at The Heath can therefore expect hearty cuisine with an ambiance-both on the plate and in the room-as only Punchdrunk could imagine. As first reported by Buzzfeed, Laura Prepon, who plays a former international drug-runner/dealer and girlfriend of series lead Taylor Schilling on Netflix's ORANGE IS THE NEW BLACK, will exit the series midway through the upcoming second season. Prepon will wrap her character's currently storyline before departing the Jenji Kohan-created series, with the option to return available.
