Coyote StageWorks, an Actors' Equity professional theater company, is pleased to announce it has been named "Best Live Theater 2014" in the 21st annual Desert Magazine 'Best of the Valley" contest. Winners of the popular poll, which is conducted among readers of the publication and mydesert.com, were announced yesterday.

The University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music (CCM) presents the final installment of the 2012-13 Studio Series with a production of Emily Mann's powerful docu-drama Execution of Justice, directed by CCM Professor of Drama Michael Burnham. Execution of Justice runs tonight, April 18-20 in UC's Cohen Family Studio Theater. Admission is free, but reservations are required. This production contains mature subject matter.

Jerry Smith was only 25 years old when he was hired in 1959 to develop a choral program at Livonia's Bentley High School. But over the course of his 25 years at the school, the Bentley Concert Choir (BCC) developed a widespread reputation for excellence, and its members traveled worldwide sharing their musical abilities. When Bentley closed in 1985, Smith went on to develop the CAPA (Creative and Performing Arts Program) at Churchill High School. Smith, along with members of his musical family, will perform a concert to benefit Paul's Players, a local community theater group, tonight, February 9, 2013.
