Dakota Johnson Rumored to Play MADAME WEB

According to a Deadline article, Dakota Johnson is now in conversations with Sony to play Madame Web in an upcoming film. Variety says that the news has been confirmed, which makes Johnson the first female superhero to have a title role in any of Sony's Marvel films. The most recent Sony and Marvel movie, Spider-Man: No Way Home, debuted on December 17th, 2021 to massive box office success. S.J. Clarkson will direct the Madame Web film, with a screenplay written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless.
SUNDANCE FILM FESTIVAL Announces Award Winners

After nine days, 84 feature films and 59 short films, the juries have deliberated and the audience has voted, and Friday night the 2022 Sundance Film Festival’s Awards were announced. The award-winning films will screen online on the Festival platform on Saturday, January 29 and Sunday, January 30. Tickets for all award screening films are now on sale.
Judd Apatow to Produce Upcoming Film By Tig Notaro and Stephanie Allynne, TIME AND SPACE

According to Deadline, Time and Space will be the next project that the life partners will embark on. Judd Apatow is set to produce via Apatow Productions, along with Stephanie Allyne and Tig Notaro's production company, Something Fierce. Notaro will star in the film. Allyne's screenplay for Time and Space will be developed around a story that she and Notaro wrote together.
COBRA KAI Joins DON'T LOOK UP at #1 on Netflix

The series, starring Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, premiered on New Years Eve and was #1 on the TV list with 120.06M hours viewed. For the second week, Adam McKay’s Don’t Look Up topped the English film list with 152.29M hours viewed.

Focus Features has acquired the worldwide rights to Miranda July's Kajillionaire, which premiered to rave reviews at the Sundance Film Festival. Written and directed by July, who won multiple awards at the Cannes Film Festival for Me and You and Everyone We Know including the Critics Week Grand Prize, the Prix Regards Jeune and the Camera d'Or, Kajillionaire stars Golden Globe® nominated Evan Rachel Wood (Westworld), Golden Globe® winner Gina Rodriguez (Jane the Virgin), Academy Award® nominated Richard Jenkins (The Shape of Water), and Academy Award® nominated Debra Winger (The Lovers, Terms of Endearment). Producers are Plan B Entertainment's Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, and Youree Henley. Plan B Entertainment's Brad Pitt, Annapurna's Megan Ellison, and Jillian Longnecker executive produced. Focus Features will distribute the film in the U.S. and Universal Pictures International will distribute internationally.
