Nicole Scherzinger Says She Still 'Adores' Andrew Lloyd Webber Despite Passing on CATS

As previously reported, composer Andrew Lloyd Webber spoke to The Economist Radio this week and revealed that Nicole Scherzinger, who starred as Grizabella in the recent West End revival of Cats, had initially signed on for the upcoming Broadway production but changed her mind just before rehearsals got underway. Now, Scherzinger has responded to Lloyd Webber's 'furious' reaction, bearing no ill will toward the theatre legend.

Producers The Shubert Organization and The Nederlander Organization have announced the cast for the first-ever Broadway revival of Andrew Lloyd Webber's iconic musical, CATS. One of the biggest hits in theatrical history, CATS will return to Broadway this summer at the Neil Simon Theatre(250 W 52nd Street) with preview performances beginning Thursday, July 14, 2016, and an official opening set for Sunday, July 31, 2016. New York City Ballet's Georgina Pazcoguin will join American Dance Machine for the 21st Century at a special guest artist during their return to the Joyce Theater (175 8th Avenue), December 21, 2015 - January 3. 2016. Known for her wide range of dramatic and dynamic roles as a soloist at NYCB, including Anita in Jerome Robbins' West Side Story Suite, Pazcoguin will perform in all of the evening shows, in which she will be featured in the Chita Rivera role in Jack Cole's 'Beale Street Blues,' Victoria's solo from Cats, and Jerome Robbins' 'Mr. Monotony.'

New Play AN OTHELLO THING to Open in January at The Tank

The Tank (Rosalind Grush and Rania Jumaily, Artistic Directors), a non-profit arts presenter located in the heart of midtown, will present AN OTHELLO THING, an experimental play that involves abstract language, non-linear storytelling, and an awareness by the performers of their performance. In this play, written by Sean Edward Lewis, a man (Lewis) and a woman (Claire Campbell) carry out violent Othello Experiments in their domestic domain.
