An evening of four dramatic readings of plays by women will be featured at 'Women, Theater and the Holocaust,' sponsored by Remember the Women Institute in recognition of Holocaust Remembrance Day, Yom HaShoah.

New Circle Theatre Company presents the third year of The Inferno Project, featuring world premieres of new short plays inspired by Dante's Inferno, at The Chain Theatre, 312 West 36th St, New York City.  

New Jersey Theatre Alliance presents Hudson Theatre Works' "Joe Hill & the Wobblies" reading, as part of the Alliance's Stages Festival, the state's largest annual theatre festival that provides free and discounted theatre events for all ages throughout the month of March.

FST continues its Stage III Series with Constellations by Nick Payne. Amy Herzog's marvelous play, 4000 MILES, draws upon relationships and people from the playwright's own life. The experience of watching these characters interact is undeniably affecting, and definitely warms the heart. It made me wish I had had a grandmother like the one that is portrayed on stage. The New Jewish Theatre is presenting a fine production of this show that's both hilarious and touching, and highly recommended.

STAGES St. Louis is proud to announce casting for its blockbuster 31st Season: Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, 9 to 5, The Musical, and South Pacific. According to Artistic Director Michael Hamilton, this season's exceptional talent "explores the triumphant powers of family, friendship, loyalty, and community in an ever challenging world." The New Jewish Theatre closes its milestone 20th Season with Amy Herzog's 4000 Miles which will run May 11- 28. It quietly tells of the developing relationship between a 91 year old "lefty" political activist and her 21 year old grandson. Their evolving relationship, spanning a 70 year age gap, is at the heart of 4000 Miles.

Perhaps the best way to approach Dickens' venerable A CHRISTMAS CAROL is straight-forward, with a generous helping of music, sterling performances, and some cool effects to liven up the proceedings. After all, the story, which dates from 1843, has been reworked, parodied, and used as a device by nearly every sitcom and animated show ever made. So, what's old seems new again in The Repertory of St. Louis' current presentation for the holidays. And, what a treat it is. David H. Bell's adaptation is faithful to the spirit and language of the story, which occurs when the industrial revolution has wreaked havoc on the lives of both the old and young. Filled with energy and enthusiasm, this is an absolute must-see for the Christmas season!

Every year you can count on STAGES St. Louis to produce a wonderful season of musicals, and you can always be sure there will be something for the younger set in the schedule as well. And,they make sure that the same care and professionalism goes into the production of each and every show, no matter who it's aimed at. The Westport Playhouse has also proved to be a good venue for these Theatre for Young Audiences presentations, and with each subsequent show here they seem to really be getting more and more comfortable with the very intimate surroundings it provides. Such is the case with their offering this year, DISNEY'S ALICE IN WONDERLAND, a very colorful, engaging, and extremely entertaining musical that manages to pack a lot into around an hours time. It may just be the best show of this type they've ever produced, and I highly recommend it!

Tumble down the rabbit hole with STAGES St. Louis this summer for its Theatre for Young Audiences production, Disney's Alice in Wonderland, June 15th - July 3rd, at The Playhouse at Westport Plaza in Maryland Heights. This whimsical journey to a land beyond imagination is a fantastic adventure the whole family can enjoy!
