Anything with the name Mark Twain on it draws a crowd.  “Twainiacs” like me will always show up.  This particular piece of Clemens’ literary output languished inside a file cabinet at the Bancroft Library of the University of California, Berkeley for a century.   It is difficult to know what to say about IS HE DEAD. It is a bold choice by Director Charlotte Gilman and the OCTA Board.   Gilman has chosen to direct IS HE DEAD in the imagined style of the time.  It is easy to imagine in a touring Chautauqua tent show in rural Kansas or Missouri at the end of the nineteenth century.

'Grey Gardens,' the 2007 character piece that originally featured a bravura turn and a Best Actress in a Musical Tony for Christine Ebersole, is the current, ambitious, fall offering from the Barn Players Community Theater in Mission through October 1. 'Grey Gardens' tells the story of a Mother and Daughter who struggle through a steep descent from American Aristocracy to poverty and health department threats of eviction from their Long Island mansion. It is a story we may never have heard except for that the Mother in our story was also Aunt to the late Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis.

The Barn Players will present the award-winning musical 'Grey Gardens,' Today, September 15th through Sunday, October 1st. The play is a perfect blend of madcap music, dancing and entertainment for the entire family.

The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) continues at the Olathe Civic Theatre Association through March 1 at the theater located in Olathe, Kansas. Written by Joanne Bogart and Eric Rockwell the musical is a parody of five musical theater composers, all dealing with the same plot, 'I can't pay the rent!'

Olathe Civic Theatre Association (OCTA) will present The Musical of Musicals (The Musical!) February 13-March 1. It is the third production in OCTA's 2014-15 "40th Anniversary Year" line up.
