Goodspeed Musicals announced on its Facebook page today that Broadway's Laura Benanti and Rob McClure will be leading the company's upcming workshop of IRVING BERLIN'S HOLIDAY INN in NYC. The event will be the first invitation-only reading of the brand new musical, based on the Universal Pictures classic. With a book from writers Gordon Greenberg and Chad Hodge, the adaptation will feature music and lyrics by Irving Berlin.

According to The Hollywood Reproter, the pair of booked recurring roles on Fox's upcoming event series slated for a premiere in 2014, joining Matt Dillon, Carla Gugino, Juliette Lewis, an Melisa Leo. Based on the best-selling novel 'Pines' by Blake Crouch and brought to life by suspenseful storyteller M. Night Shyamalan ('The Sixth Sense,' 'Signs'), WAYWARD PINES is the intense new mind-bending event thriller evocative of the classic cult hit 'Twin Peaks.'

Two time Tony Award-winning Goodspeed Musicals, continues its tradition of producing exceptional, Broadway caliber musicals in 2014 with a triple play that's sure to thrill theatergoers: the devilishly funny Damn Yankees - with a Fenway twist - will run from April 11 - June 21; the uplifting and joyous Fiddler on the Roof will run from June 27 - September 7; and the World Premiere musical based on the classic film from Universal Pictures, Irving Berlin's Holiday Inn will run from September 19 - November 30, 2014.

Variety reports that Paramount's 1942 movie musical HOLIDAY INN will premiere onstage next fall at the Goodspeed Opera House in Connecticut. The musical will be produced via Universal Stage Productions -- known for its work with Broadway's Wicked, Billy Elliot, Bring It On and Porgy and Bess.
