Playwrights For A Cause, an evening of plays by award-winning playwrights Erik Ehn, Halley Feiffer, Israel Horovitz and Neil LaBute, and a panel discussion concerning censorship in climate science and more inclusion of LGBT, women, and minorities in the arts, originally scheduled for June 14, 2015 at The Sheen Center at 18 Bleecker Street, has been canceled by the management of The Sheen Center.

Major casting has have been announced for the 2015 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity's Playwrights For A Cause, set to take place at 7:30pm on Sunday, June 14, 2015 at the Sheen Center, located at 18 Bleecker Street. The evening, which will benefit the non-profit National Coalition Against Censorship, will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights: Israel Horovitz's Breaking Phillip Glass and Erik Ehn's Her Speech, both directed by Planet Connections Theatre Festivity founder and PFAC Producing Artistic Curator Glory Kadigan; Halley Feiffer's A Play About New Mexico, directed by Gaye Taylor Upchurch; and Neil LaBute's Mohammed Gets a Boner, directed by Marco Calvani.

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present a special event, 'The Independent Producer' focusing on women producers in today's theater, on Monday May 4 from 6pm to 8pm at Theater Lab at 357 W. 36th St. on the 3rd floor.

New York Madness (NYM) is about to start its Fifth Season. With a focus on emerging artists, NYM hosts a hot night of short plays based on a theme proposed by the more established Featured Guest. The Theme is announced one week prior to the event. 360repco presents Lancelot, a world premiere drama by award-winning playwright Steven Fechter (The Woodsman), and music by New York-based rock band The Head Set. Thom Fogarty directs a cast of four, including Stephen James Anthony* (Bway: War Horse), Lulu Fogarty*, Romy Nordlinger* and Grant Riordon. Performances will be staged at The Gym at Judson, 243 Thompson Street at Washington Square South, New York, NY 10012 from today, August 13-29, 2014.

Theaterspeak will present WRITE OUT FRONT, an installation of over 125 award-winning and up-and-coming playwrights writing new plays in the storefront window of the Drama Book Shop during store hours, today, August 1st - 31st. In each two-hour time slot for WRITE OUT FRONT, a different playwright will write a new play on a laptop, while the screen shot of their computer is projected onto a 42' monitor facing the passersby on the street, making their normally private creative process public.

Rising Circle Theater Collective kicks off its 2013-14 Season with The Refinery today, a workshop production of Matthew Paul Olmos' new play 'nobody rides a locomotive no'mo', directed by Mariana Carreno King. The cast includes Dacyl Acevedo (Will work for Food), Bernardo Cubria (so go the ghosts of mexico), Heather Velazquez (Pinkolandia).

IATI Theater has announced the World Premiere of Light of Night, written by Cecilia Copeland and directed by Mariana Carreño King. Light of Night will run for only 12 performances at IATI Theater (64 East 4th Street). Performances began Tuesday, October 10th and continue through Sunday, October 27th.
